WORST NIGHTMARE. If you had asked me a week ago I was recommending this place to everyone I knew. Last month I was approved and drove off in my new 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude. The sales process was about average be prepared to spend several hours there, again it was totally worth it. Saleh our sales guy was great, awesome! Milton the finance guy, again amazing, learned so much sitting with him for an hour. Paid my down payment, drove off in my new car. Couldn't have been happier. A month later (yesterday) at 1:30 in the morning I wake up to this extremely loud banging on my door and some guy with a very deep voice yelling my name. It woke my kids up. Go to the door my car was on a tow truck. Never missed a payment because my first payment was two weeks away so surely this is a mistake. I call in the morning to find out why and I'm treated like I'm the problem.
I had to keep calling and asking for someone else and then someone else. They said the finance company made a mistake verifying my husbands employment, he makes more money than when we originally applied and it didn't match up, yeah he got promoted, he makes MORE money, yet the finance company kicked back our deal, didn't tell us, didn't call us, didn't warn us that they would repossess the car. Right now they are telling us they will call us back with more info. The person who verified my husbands income called the front desk and asked the receptionist, who isn't even qualified to verify employment that should have gone to a manager or Human Resources not the girl who answers the phone!!
So we are at their mercy, I have a full time job and 4 kids, one of which has medicine in the car that he takes when I drop him off at school in the morning, also haven't heard when I can get my things out of it. If I can get a different car, or anything. Asked about my down payment, he asked how I paid it -I said cash, he said oh they will cut you a check. When? I don't know. How a company can approve you and let you drive a car for an entire month and then just snatch it back is beyond me. It's embarrassing. At the end of the day I don't want the down payment back I need a vehicle, this affects the livelihood of our entire family of 6. This isn't fair- we both work full time both have the income and this is putting us in a very bad place. Not to mention that my husband is a Navy veteran, we have the resources to fight this and we will. Also, someone called us a few days prior, some woman who said we needed to bring the vehicle in to verify the VIN number on the car, seem sketchy?!
I've read reviews (what else can you do at 2AM when your startled awake and trying to find answers) I read reviews where the VIN was off and they had sold the car to someone else because of a VIN number being off. But then I never heard back about that and the next day car was gone. Who knows what is actually going on. To anyone considering getting a car from here, don't get too excited driving home like I did because you may be the next person to look like a fool. I will gladly update this review to let you guys know how this turns out, as of right now, haven't gotten word back, good or bad.. I'm just just stuck out and nothing I can do about it but wait some more. *Update* I called and called and called and called and called.
No response. Finally had enough, went up there in person and waited over an hour- they still don't know where the vehicle is to get our things, I've told them my sons medicine is in there and that I had to get an emergency supply, still no answer. Out of $1500 down they wrote us a check only for $1000 they charged us for towing, when we refused Ike and Joshua threatened to file a felony charge against my husband for falsifying the application- which is a complete LIE and can be proven!! So my husband said ok let's get that started and then they told us to leave the property......If you had asked me to surrender and I kept the vehicle then sure I owe for towing, but you didn't, you towed with no money owed not even a phone call and then charged us $500 and still have no idea WHERE the car is.....they said the woman who called and asked us to come in to verify the VIN was them telling us to bring the car back!!!
Nope- absolutely nothing was communicated- read the other reviews plenty of people were told to bring the car back not told we "need to verify VIN" they have apparently gotten VIN numbers off on contracts and voided them that way who knows the truth- this could be the case but again, only 3 people can talk to me about what's going on.....filed BBB complaint ...we shall see if the complaint even gets me a phone call from a GM which is all I have requested for days. Guess nobody is in charge over there. Another Update: about my BBB complaint- they actually responded saying that my husband falsified documents to obtain credit, and that he admitted to not surrendering the vehicle. These are all lies and we can prove it. Generic response and nothing was done. He DID have a change in pay which is why we went there to purchase in the first place, so since when is making MORE money a problem for a creditor? The dealership can’t even verify themselves so they blame the people at the bank when the dealership signed the contract. Shady shady people. They still don’t know where the vehicle is to obtain my personal belongings which include medications, jewelry and identifying documents, which is very much illegal. If your reading this and it sounds familiar, contact me. Your help would be appreciated, the more the merrier they say!

This Spot Delivery scam is a very old shady trick used by dealerships and their financing departments. This tactic is to send you home with the vehicle telling you that you have been approved for financing and then days or weeks later, having you come back to the dealership to say the financing has fallen through under the original terms. Sometimes they will (surprisingly) have new terms for you that are much worse than the original terms. Othertimes there is no financing at all.
Research Spot Delivery so you know how to avoid it.
The single best way to not have this experience is to get your financing from a lender (credit union or bank) before you ever shop for a vehicle. That way this scam won't work becauses the dealer has no control over outside financing as they have already been paid for the vehicle by the CU. NEVER let the dealership finance any vehicle you are giving them too much access to your info and allowing the finance people to pull these types of scams. Just say NO when they offer to give you better financing.
BTW, I think the phone call to you/your husband about the VIN check was so you bring the vehicle into the dealer and they didn't have to send out a tow truck.
