I signed my lease on a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom rental home located in mesa. The home was built in 1949 and had actually been forclosed on and abandoned for 2 years before I moved in. James Isreal showed the home and asked us how much money we could put down to hold the property. I only had 100 dollars on me so we went down to the leasing office and started the paperwork. He told us after we had put the money down that before we move in we will need 750 dollars for a non-refundable deposit in addition to first months rent. It was my first time renting so I said okay and all went well, I moved in. The very first day we went to the home and the whole back fence was leaning over so I called James and asked for it to be fixed. He said he would. Never did anything the fence is still leaning 7 months later. 1 week after move in we reminded them to come in and spray for pests as we found several cockroaches running around. They never did. We have had numerous plumbing problems and 2 of the floods made it all the way out to the hardwood flooring and carpet in closets. We we had to hire our own plumber to come and snake our main sewage line. We had another leak that was coming from underneath our kitchen cabinets (the kitchen and bathroom wall are shared) so with the combination of the two leaks we started to notice deterioration in the base boards of both rooms. Upon further inspection we saw that MUSHROOMS were starting to grow from our walls and the water damage was irreversible unless the entire wall was demo'd an replaced. We are now in a battle about ending the lease and/or getting anyone to come out and perform the necessary work. Still waiting.
