Cole Richardson, Steve Taylor Taking parents' hard-earned money Rocklin California
We all know the horror stories of coaches who coach children for their own selfish purposes, however, this takes the cake. After paying a HEFTY fee for tournaments, uniforms, and game entrance, I was not happy after seeing my child benched 3 games in a row!
This was not the first time the benching happened, and when I saw that Cole was going to penalize a player consistently, for 3 games, I went to him and asked him why he's continuing to bench. He got so angry, he was shaking uncontrollably! Cole reported the incident to his "supervisor", or whatever he is, Steve Taylor, who was NOT present at the game, but who calls my home anyway and leaves a message stating: "I have some serious concerns about the way 'YOU' interacted with Cole."
I was appalled that he would leave this kind of accusatory message on my machine without the proper professionalism of talking to BOTH parties before starting to form a professional opinion. When I asked him why he left such an accusatory message without talking to me first, his response was that he's known Cole a long time and doesn't need to speak to me before coming to his own personal conclusions. I beg to differ, especially when I have paid into the organization.
This is not the way to deal with parents who committ their time and money to an organization. It has been obvious to me that when a personality conflict occurs between Cole and a player, he retaliates by stooping to the level of the player and benching game after game without talking to the player or the parent before taking such childish actions repeatedly. It's this kind of immaturity that gives organized sports a bad name. It's NEVER appropriate to take money from parents to further a coach's own personal ambitious agenda. Shame!!
