A previous account holder with Comcast Cable. Sometime late last year, I went through some hardship at my job in which I was placed on sick leave for 90 days + more. I was faced also with the unfortunate hardship in paying my utility bills one of which was with Comcast.

I claim full responsibility in paying the service rendered past due bills on my account which is outstanding as of date. My only concern is the fee that was charged for the alarm service early termination fee for a $1100.00 dollars. I find this to be very savage due to the uncertain turns of events. I did not voluntary cancel service with Comcast cable or abandoned my service.

I am kindly asking if someone can take a look at my account and see exactly my situation. I have never had this problem with Comcast in the past. All Comcast alarm equipment was surrendered at the time.

Comcast rep did call and was adamant about the fee saying that i signed a three year contract and when i terminated the contract they was left with no other option but to charge me the full amount. mind you i did not cancel my service with comcast they did. reason they advised past due balance on account.

I am so disappointed with comcast due to this unethical way of doing business. This is so unfair

Let's look at who is really the unethical one.

Let's see you are calling them unethical because you did not cancel the account, they did.  So in your warped world logic you should not be held responsible for any Early Termination Fee.  Of course why did they cancel the account...because YOU failed to pay the bill.

Where in the 3 year agreement you signed said that you were only subject to the fee if you cancelled it?  Where in this agreement did it mention anything about how you only had to pay your bill when you could?

No..I can guarantee you there is nothing in there.  In fact this should be a "no brainer" in who is responsible for this ETF.  If you truly are taking responsibility for the past due amount...you also must take responsibility to meet the obligations you agreed to.  Yes, this includes the ETF.

Does it suck that you owe $1100..yep.  But here is anothing thing, life isn't always "fair".  You made the agreement..you must abide by it.

So tell me again who is being unetical here?
