I run the events department for a very large corporation and, therefore, travel and ship products monthly. We recently traveled on a cruise out of the country and needed to use a third party company to accept our boxes at their facility, load them on the ship at the Port, and have them sent to our room. When I called the company, they informed me they don't speak over the phone and only by email. So I emailed a person by the name of Haydee De La Torre and told them my needs. Haydee sent me 8 attachments and told me to fill them out. Well, not having used a 3rd party before to ship out of the country, I didn't understand a single thing on the form and when I asked to call him/her to go over it further with me he/she said no and tried explaining over email. Haydee told me the copmany would charge me $263 and I filled out the forms to the best of my abaility and thought I was good to go.
Wrong.
Once I received my packages back in my office after the event, they were damaged badly and one of our pieces of steel camera equipment was damagaed. When I told Haydee it was damagaed, he/she said to contact UPS to file a claim. When I did that, UPS told me I did'nt have insurance. I emailed Haydee back again and he/she said they didn't purchase insurance on my stuff. Confused, I checked my bank statement and saw Comet Delievery Services didn't charge me $263, but $1016 instead!
When I asked Haydee why they charged me so much, she/he said that's how much it costs with the total of everything. When I told him/her I thought their company was unporfessional and was a scam, she/he stopped emailing me back. When I called, nobody answered the phone.
Stay away from this company, they are deceiptful and are theifs! I hope nobody else has had an experience like this and nobody else will. This company should be shut down.
