Saleman showed up at my door claiming to save me money on my gas bill. Being on permanent disability and not able to buy groceries more than once or twice a month I was interested in saving money. I was gaurenteed it would not mess with my PG&E program but it did. My PG&E gas charge was $12.47 per month had I stayed with them.
In the beginning it was a flat rate of $29.95 per month, I was not told of the delivery charge through PG&E for using their pipes and that was $38.95 per month. It has caused my bill to increase over $57.00 per month.
I called April 11th and was told it was a 5 year contract and it would cost me $375.00 to cancel. This is impossible on my fixed income. I became upset with the customer service person and she got me to the Customer Service Manager, Angela. She offered to change the contrat to a linear contract rather than a flat rate and it was only for one year but I could cancel that in 3 months and only pay a $75.00 cancelation fee. They are sending me papers in the mail. Angela also stated that the call was being reoirded and a transcript would be sent to me in the mail.
If I had a written contract, how can they change it verbally. I believe I was mislead and led into a conttract which falesly represented their program.
I need help in resolving this and getting my account closed.
