I bought my gateway computer in october of 2001, and originally it cost 1100 dollar. now i find myself, like 16 months later still owing 800 dollars and never having a payment on time even tho on several occasions i sent the payment in before i even got my statement.

this company is pathetic. not only can they, not access my records half the time, but when they can, it's only to tell me there's still nothing they can do. i can't file a complaint with the attorney general because i never got most of the statements that i was supposedly late on.

i think that gateways should lose all credibility for even considering selling their accounts to crooks like these. i can't really believe how such a big company could pull that off and not get royally in trouble with the BBB and so on. i've heard rumors of a large class action suit against CF, LLC, but i dont know how true they are. if any one knows any details on that, i'd love to know.

my "favorite" part of this whole scandal is the joke of a christmas gift to me. i get a statement with 97 dollars worth of "misc. fees" and when i call them, they dont even show it on my file, just the balance that it reflects. and then they proced to offer me 2 or 3 christmas specials to pay off my debt. what kind of credible credit company offers specials in the first place? this company need to be shut down. Can any one help?

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY POST OFFICE. AND I DOUBT MOST OF THE CUSTOMERS ARE 90 DAYS PAST DUE. OSI PORTFOLIO LOSES PAYMENTS!!!! ONE OF MINE THEY CREDITED TO SOME ONE ELSE. THE OTHER THEY JUST LOST. THERE IS NO EXPLAINING THE CUSTOMER SERVICE OF THIS COMPANY. IT IS HORRIBLE. IF YOU DO AS THEY SAY ON THE BACK OF THE BILLING. TO CORRECT BILLING ERRORS. OSI SENDS YOU A PR TYPED GENERAL LETTER. AND NEVER EVER HELPS YOU RESOLVE ANY ISSUE, LOST PAYMENTS, MIS APPLIED OR ANY OTHER ISSUE.

Many of these customers complain about postings of payments and having mailed them on time. However they do not consider the quality of service from the post office. It can take up 2 weeks for a payment to arrive from the Northeast. As far as the attitude of our employees, the majority of our customers are over 90 days late and when we contact them they become very abusive and are upset that we are trying to collect money they legally owe.

well, i called up and paid off my remaining balance today, let's see how well this ends. i dont even care how much i got ripped off in the past, i just want a letter in my hands saying that it's over. oh, and by the way, supposedly i'll be getting the elusive corporate office phone number that they never give out to customers calling about active accounts. i'll post it here for all when this is done and over with. and on that note, i'm out.

I have the same problems with them - but remember if your payment is 1 day late they will report it on your credit report. I had them correct my credit report 2x when the posted my payments late then reported as if I was 30 days late.

I feel for your dilema. I too had to deal with computer finance in the same manner. They are brain dead! There is hope however. I did a lot of research on Computer Finance, because I could get no where with them. They were convenietly losing my payments, posting them to the wrong account #, and most of all they were reporting inaccurate information to the credit bureaus. They really and truly don't care what your problem is. They also don't care if they make mistakes. Here is the name of the company that owns Computer finance. It is Gulf State Credit. I sued them in my small claims court. They settled out of court. I won! But because I had all my proof they were being crooked. They do need to have a class action suit against them. I do believe there are hundreds of consumers being taken advantage of, and being charged unjust late fees. due to there screw ups. Look at the website www.lieffcabraser.com I am sending this law firm copies of all my documents and statements from Computer Finance LLC. If this firm gets enough Information. Perhaps they will go after them in a class action. I hope so. This company is as crooked as they come. They will not help you and they will not correct their errors.Computer finance will ignore you. You must contact Gulf State Credit. Document and Date everything you send Comp. Finance. Document and date every phone call, and who you spke to. Look at your statements closely. Is there a difference in your previous months balance from your current balance on your next statement? There was on mine. They were adding $'s on without disclosing what the $'s were for. This was on top of the interest charge. Like This; previous month ending balance 375.67 New month current balance (381.92) 32.00 interest New Balance 413.92 Watch for the difference In that ending balance and the new balance carried over. They are adding un accounted for $'s to your balance. good luck
