Conns Appliance Center False Advertising to intice individuals to come to the store Round Rock Texas
Received a sales circular today (Sunday, 5/17/09) indicating a sale effective today from Conn's Appliances. The closest store to my residence is in Round Rock Texas. I went to the store asking "Dave" the sales clerk to point out a Catnapper Teady Bear Recliner Stock # 451712 that they had for sale at a price of $399.99. They did not have the reliner, nor was the stock number in their computer system. I went there (approximately 20 miles) to purchase two of these recliners. After "Dave" spoke with the manager, and having us wait about 45 minutes to find the recliner, they simply said we dont have that in our computer system.
"Dave then stated that his manager would offer me a smaller style of the Catnapper recliner that they had on the display floor for the same price of $399.99 (this recliner was marked $499.99). I stated that I wanted two and "Dave" said "he would have to order another and it would be in on Monday". After sitting and waiting another 20 minutes, we were informed by "Dave" that no, they could not give me two for the same price of $399.99 but would only give me $50.00 off each chair. Needless to say, I walked out the door.
This is false advertising at the best. The manager of the store did not even have enough respect to speak to me himself even though he was less than 10 feet from where I stood. Someone should close this store down or educate them on false advertisement and making the customer want to do business with them. Their name fits them appropriately.
