Conn's Appliances Conn's Rip Off-Refused to honor their 30 day Return/ Exchange Policy on defective Sony Blu Ray DVD Player Houston Texas
On May 28, 2008 we purchased a Sony Blu Ray DVD Player from Conn's. The player would not play Blu Ray movies from the time it was first turned on. After contacting Sony several times, Sony told me to take the player back to Conn's for a refund or exchange.
We took the player back in the orginal packing, etc. to Conn's and were infomed at that time, that Conn's had a contract with Sony that they would not repair/replace any of Sony's products. At NO TIME during the purchase were we told this, and NOWHERE in Conn's return/exchange policy is this written. I contacted Sony again and they told me that they were not aware of any such contract.
I have contacted Conn's corporate offices several times and they have repeatedly REFUSED to honor their return/exchange policy or to help in any way. They basically told me that as soon as I purchased the player, it was my tough luck. They said they have a contract with Sony not to return/exchange any of their products, and that their contract with me in regards to returns/exchanges was not of any importance to Conn's. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It has been of no help whatsoever. Conn's responses to my complaint continue to show their disregard for customer relations, and their attitude that their customers are too uneducated to read and understand their return/exchange policy!!!
Sony personnel continue to tell me that they know of no such contract with Conn's and that their dealers are allowed to return/exchange their products within the first 30 day. Sony has also been the only one to provide any help or support in this matter. Who do you think I believe?
The only way to stop Conn's from continuing to rip off customers is to spread the word NOT TO SHOP THERE.
