I have watched this report for sometime now not being sure if I should share my story but today I realized that it needed to be heard. The relationship with Conseco began when a loan that I had with another company sold my 2nd mortgage to Conseco. John called me and persuaded me to consolidate my 1st and 2nd into one loan. What a stupid day that was. Conseco sent an appraiser out who we now know fabricated the worth of my home. The appraiser appraised the house for more money than it was worth. We didn't know that @ the time we accepted the loan. We were promised that if we paid the loan for six months they would lower the interest rate and therefore lower the payments. I believed them.

We paid the loan @$2200.00 a month for a year then I lost my job so we called as we were asked to do and request a lower rate and rudely we were told that nothing would be done for us. We continued to pay this high payment until we began to struggle with it. Many times I asked Greentree to lower our payments but it was explained to me that my husband would have to be dead and then the payments would go down $1.00 a month. Therefore my payment would be $2199.00. You are right these are the rudest people on the planet. We were called daily and threatened of foreclosure. We had to make a payment or pay property taxes so we paid the taxes plus penalty. Already I couldn't feed my family or keep the heat on we were really struggling with this payment but Greentree would not do anything to help ease the pressure.

Then we were given a cut in the payment provided we put the house on the market for sale. We had been telling them all along that the house was overpriced and there were other houses on the street that were up for sale for sometime. We put the house up and six months it sat and didn't sell because we had to ask too much for the house. Now we are back to the large payments and still trying to pay catch up. We were paying $2200 every two weeks for two month which was longer than we could afford to. We were struggling to keep food on the table and I told them so but they didn't give a d**n. Now we are back to trying to sell the house again nothing has changed in the market, but the collection person that I am now dealing with says that it is not Greentree's fault that the appraiser lied on the appraisal.

Well whose fault is it ? It sure wasn't ours but we have suffered for this. The agent ordered an IBPO on the house that proved everything that I had been telling them. This time the assesment came in at $60,000.00 less than what's owed on it and the agent said to me that a quick sale would be done on my home which would leave me responsible for paying the 60,000.00 difference. What kind of fool do they think I am. My home is being sold for pennies and Green tree wants me to repay $60,000.00 after my home has been sold and I have no money to move on. The only one who gains here is Greentree. There has to be a law against theives like these.

Someone has to stop these people and close down this operation for good. Predatory lending is supposed to be against the law. Then why can't something be done. This loan set us up to fail. We cannot sell it, or no one else can assume the loan, there is a very large prepayment penalty in place and a high interest rate.

Help! By the way I thought it ironic when one of the female agents that I complained to about the low down and dirty tactics that Greentree uses to defraud people and her response to me was " That is the very reason Conseco is not in business anymore because of their shady dealings." Who is she trying to fool they are one in the same. Let's get 'em folks.
