I also recieved a call from an "affilate" of my credit card company claiming that I was a "preferred" client of my credit card.

They said I had won a watch and subscribitions to 3 magazines for free, and all I had to do was subscribe to 3 more.

I usually subscibe to magazines anyway and this sounded pretty good to me. They would bill my credit card for the 40 dollars once a month.

However, I was constatly going over on my credit card so asked that they take it off my credit card and send me bills. Sounds simple right?

Well they didn't think so because it was about a month and a half before I got my first bill. I paid and sent it back within a week.

Then the bills stopped coming but phone calls started pouring in. I was constatly getting called, on my cell phone nontheless, and being asked if I wanted to pay my entire balance off. They had a promotion that would knock one whole payment off if I paid the 400 dollar balance right now over the phone.

I am a full time student and work part time at Blockbuster (laugh if you must) so I don't have 400 bucks just lying around the house. I would explain this to each represtentative but yet they still called.

Finally, I stopped hearing from them all together. Then in mid February, the last time I paid was in November, I got a letter from a collection agency demanding that I pay the full amount, plus late and processing fees.

I called CMS and found out what was going on and made the payments, 160 dollars worth, so I could get up to date. But that same day I got a call from the collection agency and I informed them that I paid CMS. However, they wanted the full amount, not just 160 dollars.

I refused and said I would take care of it through CMS. They said that is fine and CMS said my account is fine. However, today, nearly 3 weeks later I got another call, on my cell phone, from a collection agency. But guess what I didn't get, that's right, a paper bill from CMS.

My service started in September of 2002 and I just recieved my watch in February. Not to mention the thing is a piss of junk and fogs up everytime it is a little cold outside. Save your money and time, subscribe to each magazine. I find that the magazines prefer to work with you and even give special bonuses for signing up, like free gifts or discount rates and you actually get them.
