I made the mistake of financing a 2005 Ford with Consumer Portfolio Services in 12/2005. I made my payments on time for nearly 2 years. In June 2007, I was a passenger in a car accident where I broke my back. After several months in the hospital I was released.

I know that I was behind on my car payment and contacted CPS after I was released from 7 weeks in the hospital; explained my situation and was told that I could make alternative payment arrangements, which I did.

In October of 2007, CPS called my neighbor and told him that I had an 'unattended toddler' alone in my home and urged this dummy to call police, which he did. I was in the shower when my doorbell rang at approximately 9:00 PM. As I had broken my back, I was moving slowly to get out of the shower, put on a robe and answer my door. My this time the police had entered my backyard through the gate and were shinning lights in my windows!!!

I demanded to know what they wanted and why they were shinning lights into my home. They told me that my neighbor had called because 'CPS' had called and said I had left my toddler daughter, Megan, alone. I told the police to go and get the CPS worker or a search warrant, and until then, get off my property.

I contacted the real CPS and was told no one had contacted my neighbor and they did not work that way, if there was a child in danger, a social worker would accompany the police to check on and possibly remove the child. My daughter, Megan, is 28 year old and does not live with me. CPS got this info from my application when I used her as a reference and my neighbor, who was renting and has seen moved, did not know any of my children by name.

When this did not work, CPS called my sister, also listed as a reference, and told her how they hoped I died and how they would take all my life insurance money to satify my car loan. The man also cussed her out and told her how he would kick her a**.

These people are a pack of hoodlums and I would advise anyone to NOT do business with these thieves.
