We just had the most amazing weekend ever, because we got married. The wedding was perfect, with close friends and families there to share in the most loving, and intermit moment of our lives. The love of my life, my sole mate was filled with joyous emotions and happiness, and I was as well feeling on top of the world.

Our honeymoon was booked through Cooks Travel by agent JUDI SHUEY prier to our wedding. So off to the airport we left at 5:30am 1hour 30 minute drive, we walk up to the counter hand our ticket to clerk, and he replies, passports or original birth certificates please. Our travel agent did not tell us that and on the tickle it simply said photo ID required, so we missed that flight. Than took a taxi ($100.00) round trip, to try to obtain passports in the city. We starting faxing our families trying to obtain original birth certificates, and some how we achieved temporary pass ports ($300.00), but missed yet another flight. We had to drive to another airport, and we paid for the first airport parking ($12.00).

I can not explain the pain and discomfort for my self and my spouse, the tension, and stress was building, and what was supposed to a magically time full of life was becoming a blame game and problem. We finely arrived to our destination by 8:00pm that night, we should have been sitting on the beach by 10:00am that day, so we lost a full day ($700.00). Also because of the changing of the flights we now had to come back Saturday morning instead of Saturday evening, resulting in yet another loss of a full day ($700.00). And yes there is more on our return home, we showed up to the airport, and our flight was canceled so of course the new flight brought us home to a different airport, resulting in yet another cab ride ($80.00)one way to the other airport to pick up our car.

I made a promise to my spouse that, I would try to just enjoy this honeymoon, but I had to make a call to cooks travel to see what was going on ($25.00) international call. My agent JUDI SHUEY told me that she would speak with her manager/owner JOYCE FATH and see what she can do, and would have an answer for me in a week when I got beck. No call the week I returned, so I called her.

The response was a Slap in the Face she stated that, do to the fine print in the several documents sent to us lies the notation about the passports and the birth certificates, and that was that. The vacation ended up coasting us a big chunk of what little wedding money we were lucky enough to get, we lost around 2,000.00 dollars extra. Maybe Cooks Travel doesn't give a dam about their customer or hard working people, but I do, so do not ever use Cooks Travel, and tell everyone you know never, never to use Cooks Travel!

I read this letter, and can not believe you think the travel agent is responsbile for what happened to you! It is NOT the TA's job to make sure YOU have what it takes to leave the counrty on vacation plans. When I make a reservation for someone I might tell them, but is really is not my job to tell them they need a passport or birth certificate. She mentioned that it was noted on your paperwork, did you not read your paperwork when you got it? You, and anyone else who travels, shoule ask, "What do I need at the airport to get on that plane?". Did you even call the airline to confirm your flights? That is also not up to the TA, but to you! I am sorry that all of that happened to you, I cant say that it might not have happened if I had done your travel plans, but I would have told you when you made the reservation, what paperwork you would need to travel at the time of booking, and that would have been the only time I would have said it too you, but my paperwork, also says it, so you would have gotten the info twice. Maybe next time read the paperwork and ask questions.
