Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Here are the highlights of my complaint.

Purchased a Points (Annual) time share June 9, 2012 from Coral resorts in the amount of $8,000.00 (24,833 vacation points) 688 Coral Sands Hilton Head S.C. 29928

Before purchase of this annual time share we were assured by our sales representative (David Watson) we would benefit so much from this time share in terms of annual vacations, (3)Bdr (2.5)Bath room, club house, lazy river, etc, etc. We were promised to receive such savings over the future vacations that this was a excellent deal, in terms of flexabilty, location, value, and other benifits because we became members.

We were also informed that by buying a coral resorts time share we would benefit from being members of RCI (A global vacation time share exchange business) where as we can take the value of our "Exclusive" resort and submit it to RCI in exchange for another vacation destination relative to the points accrued via my (Deeded)Hilton Head destination "Coral Sands"

We were also given (1)week per year called a "Developer Week" to use anytime of the year we want at our home resort. (Coral Sands) OR we can sell it to any number of Time share resellers at a profit.

We were told that as property owners were would have first rights to our unit above all other vaction reservation requests, and that if for any reason RCI could not satisfy our request for another location in RCI's directory of resorts that we could always sell our week (at our cost) or just pick a week at our own resort. "No vacations will ever be missed now that we are members of Coral Resorts\RCI"

To this day the my family and I have received nothing in terms of what was promised in our timeshare presentaion.

In October of 2012 we tried to make a reservation for summer 2013 only find that RCI had no available units at that time and to keep checking back for cancellations.  We did mutiple times to no avail. We

--When we gave up in terms of looking for an exchange vacation we decided to go to our "Home Unit" Coral Sands only to find out that there was (1)no availability for our dates or request. (2)we did not have enough points to stay even if there was availability.  (3) We were also told that any home reservations had to be made 1yr in advance.

We have also attempted to sell our Developer week this year and to this date and have had no success. Moreover we learned that this benifit is only good for specific times of the year. (non summer) This was also a false presentation.

My wife and I feel like we were presented & promised one thing from Coral Resorts and sold something entirely different.  The family and I took a summer vacation this year all on our own dime after exhausting all our tireless efforts to book with Coral Sands and RCI.

My wife and I have attempted countless times to make contact with the sales manager at Coral Resorts and other than the receptionist we get either no answer or your they take a message with no call back.  My wife did manage to speak to someone at Coral Resorts who was under management and was advised to try harder with making reservations, or downsize our accomadations to allow for more points useage. I have a family of 5.  A one bedroom (If you can find one) is not going to cut it for a week.  I feel like I've totally wasted close to $9000 on a vacation package that I've yet to use or benifit from in any way to this day or in the future.

Today I received a letter from Coral Sands requesting $1,021.81 in maintenance fees when we were told it would be $350 annually.

I've had it with this place.

Timeshares are never a good purchase and timeshare owners need to be cautious about this. There are lots of timeshare scams. I recommend you to read a good article with good information about timeshare issues: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/206-how-to-get-out-of-a-timeshare/
