We went back and forth as to how to reply to these grossly false accusations. Our final decision was to let the facts speak for themselves. This report is a little vague, so below is a little back ground information.

This report was filed by a past customer. He contacted us in March of 2005 wanting assistance in partially restoring 13 Camaros so that they would be easier to sell. We did a small amount of work to about 5 cars, helped him sale 4 cars and securely stored all of the cars and parts for him for nearly 12 months. He became frustrated with us when we would not lie to potential buyers about the true condition of the cars and we refused to do patch-up work to hide damage. Soon after he found someone that would give him $200 paint jobs and moved the cars from our shop and we had not heard anything from him since September of 2006 until a few days ago (10-1-07).

We invite any customer to look over our web site http://www.corbettsauto.com/ which clearly shows the stages of our restorations and how meticulous we are. Our shop is always open for an in person visit where you can see many different projects in various stages of completion. And finally if you are serious about having us work on your car we will provide you with references of both past and current customers. We document all restorations including the cars we did for this customer, which we are also happy to make available to anyone who asks.

Now to address the accusations:

(1) Billing for work never done Invoices are generated weekly using QuickBooks, all charges include detailed descriptions and when feasible backed up with photographic documentation. If he would have given a good example we would be in a better position to explain.

(2) Selling customers' parts on Ebay Occasionally upon a customer's request we will assist them in selling unused parts and apply the proceeds to their bill, but we rarely use Ebay for this purpose. Again it would be nice if he would give an example such as: what part(s), a date, item number, etc.

(3) Charging outrageous rates for 2nd class work Our current labor rate ($39/hr) is well below industry averages and every effort is made to exceed the customer's expectations.

We are not sure where these accusations are coming from and would enjoy the opportunity to address them in more detail or make it right to the customer. We will try to contact him to get more specifics so that we can take the necessary steps to make it right.
