I'd like to report a case of misrepresentation in the Corelle store at a Tangier Mall in Byron Center, Mi. I went to purchase a four place setting set of the "watercolor" pattern dishes. It was listed at $59.99. We hadn't purchased it before, because we are seniors and on a limited budget.
As we walked into the store a clerk met us with a coupon, and we were told that everything in the store was 20% off. As I was showing the dishes to my husband, a clerk came up to us and, using her cell phone, gave us what the final price would be with the 20% off--around $48 with tax. So, I took the box to the register. When the clerk rang it up she told me that it would be $62 something. I asked her, "What about the 2% off? She then told me that the 20% had already been taken off on the price on the shelf. i told her that I hadn't seen anything teling me that. She said that the red stickers on the shelves meant that the 20% had been already taken off. They claimed that I should have known that the 20% had already been taken off, however, I'm not psychic, and no one informed me of that fact. So, I felt cheated and walked out disappointed without the set of dishes.
I think this was a case of misrepresentation. No one informed me of the color code, nor that the 20% wasn't for "everything in the store" as they had claimed when I walked in. They were also telling other customers that the 20% was on anything in the store. I feel cheated. How can you make this right?
