and complaining, the serviceman that came out to your home was probaly correct in telling you that a different dept had to fix the box outside exspecially if he wasn't a mainline tech, that is if you live in a appartment bulding. But go to the office if you talk to someone in person I'm sure they will get you everything you want, as to the time waiting on the phone you have to consider all of the people that are calling in for service problems due to the storm, that can make the wait time very long considering that there are fare more calls comin in than there are people in the office to talk to. And for satilite suggestion, to the OP in Louisiana go to the search part if this website and search satilite companies or service and you will find fare more complaints about fraudulent billing and bad service that you will for cable tv. Just hang in and I'm sure that the problem will get corrected, the field staff is probably overwelmed with repair work caused by the storm, I am sure your repair is on the list of repairs to be made. But I would still go into the local office and talk to someone.

In the state of Lousiana COX has control over most of the politicians, and the Mayor of New Orleans is the former CEO of COX Louisiana. If you live in an apartment complex you cannot have a satlite disk, and must use the cable service in your area. In New Orleans to install a satelite you are required to have a permit, and the fee is extemely high. Some districts in the city prohibit satelite altoghether. Research indicates that COX spends over 3 million annuiy for lobbyiest to influse the US Congress. They also offer, and take FCC, and FTC high ranking employess on jaunts, and trips.

Have you ever heard of crooked politicians? In Louisiana if you live in an apatment complex, you cannot put up a satelite disk, or use any service other then designated in that area. In New Orleans you require a permit, at a very high fee, to install satelites. And you cannot install satelites in certain disrticts. Of course if you had read the last paragraph you may have a hint of what is expected in Louisiana.

No cables t fix or boxes to worry about. Why even waste your time attempting to restore cable service that is obviously too far gone. What harassment? If there is no service there is no bill! That is easy. They cannot legally charge you if you don't have service. A complaint to the FCC by certified mail, rrr will work, as well as the corporation commission, and public utilities commission. Several Federal Agencies will get involved. You can make it work, or you can just keep complaining.
