I thought using Cox's "Easy Pay" would be a convenient way to pay my bill, boy was I wrong!!! On July 1st, I moved and switched my cox services to a different location. I was told that I was paid ahead and would be billed on the 1st of August.

Well, on July 16th, $138, was taken out of my account. When I called Cox to ask why, the girl said it was their mistake, until she spoke to a supervisor, then the story reversed. She said that I still owed that money from my last account and I was also being billed $194 for a technician that had come in!

And the topper was they were going to take the $194 out of my account the next day!!! I had received no bills for this or warnings that these amounts were going to be taken out of my account. I told them to take me off of their easy pay program and argued that I did not owe the additional $194.

Well, they did not take out the $194 after all, but never reimbursed me for the $138 and then on August 3rd they took out $166 from my account again! I called and told them first, I never received a bill and secondly I was not supposed to be on easy pay any more! They apologized and said the money would be back in my account in 72 hours.

Well, I could have probably guessed, but they never gave me the money back and when I called the Cox representative said that I owed that amount plus another $77!!!

So far, I heard 4 different stories from Cox representatives about my account; in the end they took money out of my account without a bill and without my consent. I have not yet been reimbursed for any of this. I called Qwest yesterday and switching services, but i doubt Cox will ever give me my money back!
