Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I was contacted by Robert Vaugn, a rep for Credit Aide in November 2002. He told me that I was selected to receive 2 credit cards as part of a government grant. The government wanted to help people who HAD bad credit, re-establish it. Of course, the glitch...They would debit my checking account a total of $300. I could do this in 2 payments to make it easier for me.

After the first $150 draft on my account, I would receive a Visa card with a $4,000 credit limit. Then, after my 2nd draft of $150, I would receive a second Visa card with a $2,000 limit. The only reason that I even considered this was because I could really use a credit card to help out with Christmas.

I specifically asked Mr. Vaugn if I would receive the card in time for Christmas and he "guaranteed" it. So, reluctantly, I agreed. This was the first and last time I ever did anything like this.

At 1 week prior to Christmas, I called the phone number that I was given to check on the status of my card. Mr. Vaugn was of course too busy to speak to me, so I had to speak to his secretary. She told me that she didn't know why Mr. Vaugn would say such a thing, because this was a package deal. I would not receive any card until weeks after both drafts were completed. I guess that I fussed enough that the lady told me that they would go ahead and send my package out since my 2nd draft was due only a couple of days later.

Week after Christmas, still no package. On New Years Eve, I called once again. I got an answering machine, and I left a message. About an hour or so later a rep called me back and assured me that my package was mailed the week of Christmas, but that she couldn't give me an exact date because the mail room was closed for the holiday.

Week following the New Year and I still have no package. On Jan.6th, I left a total of 4 massages on the answering machine that I kept getting and no one called me back. I then filed a complaint with the FTC.

Today, I tried to call the company again, and someone finally answered the phone. I asked to speak directly to the manager, and surprisingly, none of the managers were available. So, I had to settle for Senior Representative, Paolo. After explaining the whole situation to him, he seemed concerned. Especially due to the fact the information for my approval had not even crossed his desk yet. He would call me back in 30 minutes.

4 hours later, I had to call him back. And just like the other times, he "guaranteed that my package was mailed TODAY. That is no where near what I was told any other time that I spoke to any rep from this company. I am now filing my complaint here. And I sincerely hope that I don't get a list of banks in the mail like some of the other ripoff reporters did. I have also contacted an Atty. So, if anyone else has had similar dealings with this company, you are not the only one.
