I fell&broke my wrist. I went to Temple Episcopal emergency room,10/28/11,was treated&referred to Orthopedic surgeon. I was sent no bills. I was sent letter from Credit Collection Services,dated-3/21/2012,for $148.86. I am covered with Medicare&Medicaid Insurance. I visited the Credit Collection Services website today 4/15/2012,their website states I owe $119. ??? I believe they, and many more are out to ruin my credit, fully knowing I am insured & on a fixed income.

In regards to the response to this persons complaint, it was totally arrogant and uncalled for, sarcastically putting down the complainer.

A better response would have been to tell the person to send a copy of the claim to medicare or call them to ascertain if indeed they do owe any money whatsoever.

It is quite possible the emergency rooms billing service never  billed medicare or for that matter, put the wrong coding in.  This has happened to my father.

And you are aware that ULTIMATELY YOU are responsible for ALL medical billings and disputes. EVEN "IF" you think medicaid and medicare are your primary insurers, you are by law accountable for balances due. Medicaid and medicare would have sent you an itemization of what was remitted for payment verses what you are FULLY accountable for. Sorry that you are unaware of your financial responsibility. Maybe you can save by disabling Internet service and start saving for this invoice charged. Contact your federal agency if you need answers to your responsibilities under the medicaid/medicare program.
