Okay, here's the deal. We signed up for Credit Karma about a month ago.

You get a free credit score through Trans Union and you can keep checking back as often as you like, no charge.

There is additional information regarding how you can improve your credit score including hiring people to help.

There is also additional information presented to you regarding interest rate lowering credit cards.

Now, you must read the fine print, because they have to make money of course. This is how we think they do it.

Your name, number and address are sold off to a lot of high pressure creditors.

They will start calling you soon after your account is initiated. You will also receive things in the mail.

Just because you are on the federal do not call list doesn't matter. Expect your phone to ring off the hook 24/7.

In your agreement, you said it is okay to be contacted by their advertising partners.

It's a trade off. Your personal information for a free credit score.

Good luck...

BTW,

don't trust the review sites. They are bogus.

After writing my report on credit karma I have to say I have enjoyed using the service and there is no way to verify the telemarketing calls came from them. In fact we have not received any more calls. I will report back if anything changes.
