My bill was due on 11/28/11 and paid as agreed. Credit One only offers two payment options, an express payment for $9.95 and a standard payment for no extra fee. The only difference between the two is that the credit is available next day for the extra $9.95 as opposed to 7-10 days later for standard. My payment posted and was withdrawn from my bank account on 11/29/11. I called Credit One in order to get access to my credit that had already been drawn from my bank account and was told in no uncertain terms that "their bank" cannot release the credit before the 7-10 day period is up because it is their policy, even though the funds had been cleared by my bank. I asked to speak to a supervisor whose name was Shannon. I offered to have them call my bank and verify that the funds had posted and was told that since I had not paid my bill by the express method they were not able to call my bank to verify. Even though both methods offer a direct debit from a bank account, since I did not pay them extra they informed me that they cannot call my bank to confirm clearance of the funds. This is very unethical business that they are conducting there, not to mention holding money that I have paid them back for up to 10 days after my payment has cleared because I did not pay them extra money to pay my bill. I cannot see how this type of business practice is allowed.

So what you are saying is that you are paying the amount due ON the due date and are upset that they won't let you charge that amount for up to 10 days.

You have a Sub-Prime card, as such you have not shown you can handle credit and creditors are going to take a harder stance to protect themselves.  From what you have said you still haven't learned how to handle credit.  Because if you are paying an amount that if held means you can't use the credit line, that means you not only maxed out your card, but are trying to max it out again.

Payment history is important but so is your credit usage.  Maxing out your card is a HUGE negative.  Generally having a balance of anything over 80% of your credit line is generally considered maxed out.  Ideally you should be under 30%.  Where if you were under 30% and never tried to max it out it wouldn't matter if they held your payment because you still have credit available.
