Most likely what happend is that that person on Craigslist was just selling services. This company has an affiliate program so the link you "clicked on" probably gave this person credit for the "sale". However, it was stated right on the page where you enter all of your information. ----------------------- Membership Details: By ordering instructions to obtaining a free credit report, you will be automatically enrolled in a 3-day free trial of Credit Report America's exclusive membership site. Your membership with Credit Report America requires a small $2.95 fully refundable activation fee. If you don't cancel your membership within 3 days of enrollment, you will be billed the very low price of $29.95 for each month that you continue your membership. You may cancel with us at anytime by calling (800)-712-7224 - there is no obligation. CreditReportAmerica.com is not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. You have also unlocked a fourteen-day trial and twenty one-day trial to the Fraud Protection Resource Center and Identity Theft Protection for just $6.95 and $9.95 a month thereafter (shows as "FraudProtection" and "IdentitySecurity") should you choose not to cancel. Prior charges for all programs are non-refundable and a monthly $1 transaction fee applies to each bonus membership but bonus subscriptions can be cancelled and future charges stopped at any time by calling toll-free 1-800-712-7226 and 1-877-205-7023. All offers come with a monthly newsletter. --------------------------- By the way the time to worry about who you are giving your information to is BEFORE you give it and not after the fact.
