Crescent Bank does not follow any laws in regards to the Fair Debt Collection Act. In my opinion, the agents run the collections area and act as if their actions carry no consequence. They have called me at work when my payment is 11 days past the due date;I faxed them a request not to call me there, but they ignored it. When they called me at work again I told them to stop calling as all my calls are recorded for review and they wanted another letter that was notorized and certified. I told them the law doesn't require that and that they have to abide by my first request. They haven't called since, but it was only a month ago. Once, I was at 30 days and they sent someone to my house in Florida to get the payment. This is a major violation of the law. They also don't bother looking for a payment that I sent certified to them, was signed for, but never cleared my account. They never followed up until my payment was late and then they wanted a late fee on top of that. This company needs a heavy fine levied, plus all my calls are now recorded for any future litigation that might come up. From what I understand they can be forced to pay 1000.00 per incident of the violations. The bank needs to train their people to follow the law.

The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act only applies when the original creditor has sold your account to a 3rd-party collection agency....It sounds like you are still dealing with the original creditor here.
