Cricket is a ripoff...after being a good customer for four years I called and wanted to add text messaging..so they said..."well for 5 dollars a month more you can get that plus unlimited long distance".I agreed.

Then a few weeks later I went to make a directory assitance call and was informed that I was out of of my 2 free free calls to 411.Then to make matters worse I went to make a 3 way call and that didnt work either.

I then called cricket and asked why I could not make 411 calls. For 4 years I could make them and they just deducted the cost from my 500 minutes a month long distance allowance.Cricket informed me that the new better plan I was on didnt work that way any more...then I asked about my 3 way feature...and was informed the new better plan didnt offer that anymore...then I asked about the 16.00 dollar charge to my account and was told it was to switch to this new better plan.

Now here is the best part..I was not informed that I would lose my 411 calls, or 3 ways would not be available anymore, and of course was never told that I would be charged 16.00 dollars to "upgrade"

I told Cricket that 411 and 3 ways were what I used the most of all features,I was informed quite rudely that"Sir,we tell everyone about the features you will not have and of the 16.00 dollar fee...I told CSR that had i been informed of those I would never had "upgraded" those were my 2 most important features.I asked to simply be put back on my old plan and they said "sorry, cant not available anymore"

Well to make a long story short i simply switched to Nextell and imported my phone number from cricket. So now they lost me as a "valued" customer and lost thier phone number as well.

I apologize that the "new" plan wasn't explained to you...

I can understand your frustration about getting the "new & better" plan. Personally, Cricket's not a rip-off, but you probably feel that way since the new plan might not have been explained to you in full detail. Here's the catch though: you AGREED to change the plan...and verbal agreement is as much verification as signing a contract. From what you're saying already, I can see that you probably had the old "Cricket Talk" plan which came with 500 mintues of Long Distance (which you could also use for directory assistance calls @ $1 per call). That also came with 3-way calling, but not with Text messaging, which was an additional $4.99 with that plan. As for the directory assistance calls, they're still available, but you're only limited to 2 per month. Unfortunately, 3-way calling is not available with the new "Unlimited" plan that you have now (and for obvious reasons). I'm sorry that the representative didn't understand that your plan was really what you needed since you used mostly 3-way and directory assistance. As for the CSR, he/she told you correctly: the "Cricket Talk" plan isn't available anymore, and therefore it cannot be switched back. I'm sorry to hear that Cricket lost you as a valued customer. Hopefully Nextel will work out for you. Just do NOT go over your limited anytime minutes...oh, and about that 2-year contract Nextel signed you up for....and check out the early termination fee on that contract (upwards of $200 per line)...
