I purchased a phone from Chit Chat wireless on 9535 Westheimer in Houston, Texas as a Cricket Wireless service provider. The phone worked for a few days and that was it. The phone did not recieve incoming calls. For a while the phone was updating the phone book and would not let me access my phone book. People who called got a disconnect notice causing me to miss an opportunity to interview for a position I was seeking. In addition, their incompetent customer service contended that they were reactivating my phone only for it to stop working again. It connected to some ABC wireless pay per call service.

The phone sucked. The service sucked and the store refused to refund my $140.70 dollars that I paid for the phone considering the trouble I endured with it. I even had the receipt and returned the phone within the return period, and they still did not honor my request. I have completed to the FTC, to the BBB, and now to the attorney general in addition to filing a fraud complaint with the card holder that processed the fraudulant transaction. DON'T BE THIER NEXT VICTIM. I will pursue this until I feel that I have raise $140.70 dollars of hell.

Bottom line is when people pay for a service it should work. They owe me my money back. Imagine the number of people they cheat out of their money. The even tried to bill me for two months of service for a phone that I had already dropped off at Chit Chat wireless b/c it did not work. They won't get an additional penny from me. The store owners know that the service is a rip off and that is why the refused to give my money back. Trust me. It sounds too good to be true b/c it is.

As stated previously, you needed to take your phone to a full service cricket store. The store you went to is unfortunately just an authorized dealer, meaning pretty much they can only sell phones. You stated that you would receive an error stating "ABC wireless pay per call service." To me that sounds like you were out of your local calling area and did not have your 'TRAVEL TIME' enabled or working properly. Also, you have not been double billed, also as the previous responder stated. I'm guessing since you are a new customer, you were on one of the new prepay plans? Did you actually contact cricket themselves to let them know to disconnect your account? Most people just dont pay their bills instead of actually properly disconnecting their account which leads to a whole different set of issues, such as larger bills then they thought, etc. Sure, Cricket might not provide the best service, but there are NO cell phones that can gaurantee service. Unfortunately though, it sounds as if your problem lyed with the cell phone manufacturer.

Unfortunately, there was nothing that Chit Chat Wireless could do for you. That's why they didn't do anything. All they can do is sell you a phone. You would have needed to go to the Full Service Cricket Store for help with your phone that wasn't working. Cricket's billing system automatically adds in the next month's service when the previous month isn't paid, which is why you received a "double bill". Unfortunately, I don't know if there's much that can be done now...you can try though...
