Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I purchased my phone on Aug 8th, 2004. Rebate says form had to be turned in before Sept.14th to qualify for rebate. Then on the front of the form it says in bold black letters, "Pay for 3 months of continous service on any rate plan to qualify for the rebate.?? I was told at the Cricket store i had to hold on to my reciept and the barcode information for 3 months before claiming my rebate. From Aug 8th to Sept the 14 is a little over a month but i was told not to turn anything in until my 3 months was over. I called Cricket and the assitant told me that i did not qualify for the rebate due that i had not turned in my form before Sept 14! I juuuuuust got the dang phone in Aug 8th!! and I want my rebate now! i have had my service for 3 months, it cleary states on the form that you qualify for rebate after 3 months continuous service! Now they are telling me i do not qualify, sorry! Oh heck nooooo, i demand i get this rebate!

The rebates are real...make sure you read the rebate terms & conditions

"It's the fake rebate con. Companies use it to hustle off the trash that doesn't sell." My response: Whenever you don't abide by the terms and conditions of the rebate and don't follow the instructions, that's when you DO NOT qualify for the rebate. Most rebates are actually quite easy to understand. Cricket's is not hard to understand, but you MUST follow it "to a T". Also, if you read something on the rebate that a representative at a store didn't tell you: do what the REBATE says to do, not what a person may say about the rebate. I agree, the representative at the Cricket store did give you the wrong instructions (I don't know exactly what you mean by "Cricket store". Was it a Full Service/Retail Store, or just an Authorized Dealer that sells other phones than Cricket phones?). The other issue is this: "Pay for 3 months of continuous service". This basically means to pay your bill ON-TIME. That is one part of the rebate that customers miss ALL the time. Also, the rebate form CLEARLY states on it the last postmark date to send in the form. My recommendation to ALL Cricket customers: 1) when you send in the rebate form(s), ALWAYS read the terms and conditions of the rebate and ALWAYS follow the instructions on the rebate form itself. 2) When you send in the rebate form, send it WITH A CONFIRMATION RECEIPT. That way, if the rebate Center gives you problems, you can verify that you DID send it to them.

It's the fake rebate con. Companies use it to hustle off the trash that doesn't sell. There's always some idiot who buys just because of the rebate. But, nobody ever actually gets a rebate. You'd have to send the papers in a week before you bought the item! Impossible, right? Next time, don't get sucked into the rebate con! When you buy something, expect nothing back. Don't even try to mail the stuff in. People laugh at you when you do that. Most of the world already knows about the rebate con. Better yet, avoid the stuff that comes with rebates. It must be trash or they wouldn't need to use the rebate con to force it off on people, right?

The rebate company Cricket hired are a bunch of crooks! They have been in trouble before. Just read the link that is at the end of the Report above about rebate rip-offs! Your company sucks, and they have you doing thier dirty work.

I'm sorry that you've had this problem with the rebate. Please contact our rebate team at 1-888-326-6178 to address this matter and see what we can do. Now, let's begin by addressing the facts: A. You SAID "Rebate says form had to be turned in before Sept.14th to qualify for rebate. Then on the front of the form it says in bold black letters, "Pay for 3 months of continous service on any rate plan to qualify for the rebate." What does that mean? Basically, it means 1) to make copies of all the information needed for the rebate, and 2) make sure to pay your payments on-time so that your service doesn't get suspended. I understand that you were told at the store "hold on to the barcode (and other info needed) for 3 months then turn in your rebate". The bad thing is: you read the rebate yourself and understood what it said to do (as you quoted it in your first few sentences). Another thing is that I don't know what you mean by "Cricket store". The reason is that there are MANY authorized dealers that sell Cricket phones, and some of them are almost as large, or sometimes larger than our Full Service Retail Stores. But those "dealers" may or may not know the rebate requirements or anything else about Cricket's service. If you could clarify the type of store you went into to buy the phone, it would clear up some things. A good way to tell if you're in an official "Cricket Store" is this: Does it have a GREEN COUCH in it?

I'm not like this to all customers, just one's that think it's Cricket's fault because they don't know how to follow instructions. You didn't meet all requirements for the rebate, deal with it! If that rebate meant that much to you, you would have read the rebate paper and seen what the requirements were. Did you pay the first 3 months payments on time? If you did, I'm surprised, being from Memphis and all. All that town knows to do is try to pull fraud on people. You won't get your rebate, I GUARANTEE THIS!!!!

Rebate Turns into Debate

#8REBUTTAL Individual responds

I have made my case known here and that is all i care about. Your actions as a repersentative of Cricket is non-acceptable. A respectable repersentative of a major company does NOT stoop down to the customers level with the response I recieved from you. FYI, I will keep your response for future reference. ALL I wanted was a rebate and the salesperson you hired is misleading the customers, therefore customers are losing money due to this employee. Evidentally thats NOT your concern and i will have to take this up with my local store which will lead me back to CRICKET with no avail, as apparently will not do any good, specially if I talk to someone like YOU! No Thanks given to a repersentative that is only interested in being as ugly as an upset customer with a valid complaint! Whatever happened to the old saying in retail..."Customer Satisfaction Guaranteed" ???? Well, I guess Cricket should say "If the salesperson says it you better believe it, take it or leave it"! I am DONE with this complaint, no need to respond, I "GUARANTEE" THIS !!!!!!!

Yeah, go to the store and act like an immature child and see how far that gets you. It clearly states on the rebate form to mail in before a certain date. It's not Cricket's fault that you don't know how to follow instructions.
