Cross Country Bank ripoff switch mastercard to visa w/o autherization Baca Raton Florida
I recieved an aplication from Cross Country and filled it out to try and help my Credit . I recieved a Mastercard threw them in 98 or 99 i cant remember lol .Well about 3 months or so later my wife and i decided to pay it off when we did i told the person on the phone i would like the card cancelled they said TY for using Cross Country bank and asured me the card was indeed cancelled
Aproxamately 4 months later i recieved a call from them that my Visa card was past due and i had better pay.I told them i never had a visa threw them and they told me that my Mastercard had been switched to a visa Before i had payed it off so it wasnot closed .I couldnot believe what i was hearing ,i never gave them any permission to swith anything .they said all the charges on the account were from annual fees and late fees and pretty soon over the limit fees .
then after some persuation on the phone they said they would take care of it .THEN THE REAL NIGHTMARE BEGINS! I forgot about them for a few more months til out of the blue the phone calls start about 20 a day all difrent people not knowing what the one before them just heard from me .Having to explain the whole thing all over again 20 times a day 7 days a week for months . Now up to date it is the collection agency wanting a dispute letter that is all they said i would need .WRONG they need a coppy of the check paying off the acount 5 YEARS AGO . Some one save me what can i do from here.
