CROSS COUNTRY BANK FRAUDULENT OPERATIONS Boca Raton Florida
On May 22, 2002 I received a message on our answering machine from Cross Country Bank. The message was whether or not we had received our statement. (Please note: The greeting on our answering machine identifies us by both first and surnames.)
When I called the number from the message (866-206-0225), I was told my phone number was listed for a Jennifer Lasher (sp?). I politely told their customer service representative there has never been anyone by that name at this numberthat it had been my phone number for 23 years.
I then asked that the number be removed from this other individual's record with Cross Country Bank, since it is an error. The representative refused to do this, saying how do I know you're not Jennifer Lasher. I was flabbergasted! I said my telephone number was being used fraudulently. The representative said I would have to send a fax to have my number removed.
I am incensed that:
I had to spend money on a telephone call to send a fax.
When I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was refused by the representative, saying I do not have an account with Cross Country Bank.of course after he had said I could be Jennifer Lasher.
Unfortunately, I did not ask for the name of this customer service' representative. Be assured, however, neither my husband nor I will ever do any kind of business with this company. I told them in the fax (yes I did send it): go right ahead, check our credit references. They are outstanding.
Additionally, we will make certain all of our friends, family, and acquaintances do not open and/or do cancel any existing accounts with Cross Country Bank.
