Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I strongly consumers to avoid this dealership!  They are dangerous!  You will be victimized and subjected to harm you can't anticipate!  It's as if it's run by a gang of thugs supported by upper management. Their scandalous bait and switch routines are well rehearsed and varied! I am fortunate, only because I disclosed my relationship with a government entity, that I was not severely victimized by the police.

What's really funny is that this dealership doesn't bother screening who they're going to victimize.  They victimize you then react to your response to being victimized in a hostile and threatening manner as they arrogantly back-peddle and protect their routines.  My child is emotionally scarred by the experience and may require counseling. I own and have a history of purchasing and owning new Honda vehicles; and purchasing for my children. I owned and drove a Honda Civic while I attended college.  That's about to change. There is no apology in the world that can make up for what happened. Don't subject yourself or your family to what I’m about to share with you.

I contacted Crown Honda of Greensboro for a White 2013 Honda CRV EXL w/leather beige interior, and backup camera. I was told by internet sales consultant Dorian that he did have one in stock that had 20,000 miles and was priced at 20,981.00.  I asked if he would submit an offer of $19,500.00. Dorian stated that he would get back with me shortly.

After waiting an hour or so, I decided to call since it would take me an hour to get to the dealership located in Greensboro, and I wanted to get there to see the vehicle and wrap up a deal before the dealership closed. When I called I spoke with an internet representative name Ira (or something to that effect) who relayed for Dorian that the offer of $19,500.00 was acceptable and to come on to the dealership.

My youngest daughter and I arrived at the dealership an hour later and asked for Dorian.  On arrival we looked at what we initially thought was a Honda 2013 CRV EXL but it wasn't. When approached by a sales rep I explained why I was there and the sales rep I was told to ask for - Dorian.  I was told he was with a customer. I then asked for the Sales Manager since I had my own financing. I was told by sales rep #1 there were six sales managers and he asked which one I wanted to speak with. I indicated anyone of them that could help me obtain a purchase order for a vehicle I submitted an offer on that was accepted.

A sales rep #2 was sent to me instead of a sales manager. I explained the situation again and that I had come to the dealership to see a specific vehicle but didn't see it on the lot. He immediately began attacking my character and acting as though he was a psychiatrist or psychologist.  I asked him for his business card to identify who he was. I then cautioned that he was acting like a licensed professional but his card said he was only a sales consultant. I asked sales rep #2 to speak with a sales manager or Dorian about the vehicle and expressed concerned that I drove over an hour to see and purchase the vehicle. It was becoming obvious that something was wrong.

I had my daughter follow me outside and called the dealership asking for the General Manager.  I explained the situation to Scott Bisbee, General Manager. He instructed me to go back into the used car dealership waiting area and he would have a manager come out to help me.  A Finance Director (can’t recall his name) came out and greeted me. I explained my situation once again. I expressed concerned that I drove an hour and hope it wasn’t for nothing. He explained that the vehicle was just sold but he could show me other vehicles in different colors.

I expressed that I felt like I was lured up here for one thing, just to be sold something else. I didn’t want something else! I again asked to speak with Dorian to find out why he had me drive this far for nothing. I then asked the Finance Director to please provide me an inventory printout that shows that a White with beige interior 2013 Honda CRV EXL with 20,000 miles being sold for $20,981.00 even existed.  The Finance Director came back to me with a printout for a vehicle that had nothing to do with the vehicle in question. It was black and 2015. He said it was a mistake and he would get the right printout.

When the Finance Director returned, he came back with a Bobby Martins, I believe introduced as the Sales Manager – the Finance Director’s “boss.”  He explained that the Finance Director told him what was going on and asked me what I needed. I explain that I wanted to see a printout that the vehicle even existed. Bobby Martins explained that the vehicle I was interested in was sold within the hour and there were other vehicles he could show me.

I expressed that I just wanted a printout at this point to show me that the vehicle existed in inventory which would put me at ease that I wasn’t being subjected to bait and switch. Bobby Martin then hollered and demanded that I get out! My daughter was offended and expressed concern in her tiny voice. She asked him if he had a mother or father and how would he feel if someone disrespected him parent like that?

A representative seated to the right side of Bobby Martin then lunged forward at my daughter and hollered at her to get out. I immediately went to protect and shield my daughter from harm and warned the gentleman not to talk to my daughter in such a hostile manner or threatening manner again. He sat down and said he was calling the police.

My main concern was to get out the building and get my daughter to safety. I could not get to my vehicle because it was parked on the opposite side of the used car lot and could expose me or my daughter to further threat of harm or violence.  I headed instead to the new car building and tried calling the General Manager again.

We waited for the General Manager in the new building. He never came down. We were met instead by the police. I tried to explain briefly what occurred but was cut-off by the female responding officer. They wouldn’t allow my daughter to express what a representative did to her. The female office explained that I needed to leave the property or I would be arrested since the dealership doesn’t want me on the property.

The male officer then proceeded to reinforce what was said in a provocative manner. They were trying to push my buttons. Things would have escalated but I informed the officers that I was affiliated with a government entity – we were on the same team and I have every intention of complying since I didn’t live in the area but an hour away.

The female police officer then asked me for my identification.  When I pulled out a military ID she stated that she needed to see my driver license.  I asked her what would happen if I did not show her my driver’s license since I wasn’t in a vehicle and she said words to the effect that she could arrest me.  She asked me if my address were current and told me that the matter was civil and I should contact the dealership about what happened.  I advised the female officer that I didn’t think that was good advice after being told by her that I was being banned by the dealership from coming onto the property – I would have a lawyer contact them instead.

None of this had to happen.  Apparently, according to reviews on DealerRating.com, this appears to be a pattern of abusive sales practices and tactics used by this dealership to sell a car.  When I caught on too soon they chose to become disrespectful and threaten to become violent with my child if I didn’t leave.  Since neither my daughter nor I was physically hurt or arrested, the attorney I consulted with expressed it was dead wrong what they did, but no case can come out of it!

This is why people are taking matters into their own hands, because the judicial system and police do not provide equal protection to consumers when business employees violates a person’s human, civil, or consumer rights; or unnecessarily and intentionally subjects a man and his young child to emotional distress and threat of violence.

You probably were a victim of bait and switch but that does not give you the right to refuse to leave when the manager told you to get out.

“I could not get to my vehicle because it was parked on the opposite side of the used car lot and could expose me or my daughter to further threat of harm or violence.”

Nowhere in your story did you provide an account that you or your daughter were threatened with harm or violence.

“I headed instead to the new car building and tried calling the General Manager again.”

You would not have stayed if you felt threatened. You were no longer a potential customer and at this point you were trespassing.

“When I caught on too soon they chose to become disrespectful and threaten to become violent with my child if I didn’t leave.”

Please provide a detailed description of the threat because you have failed to do so. Apparently the police didn’t buy your story because they did not charge anyone with assault.

"only because I disclosed my relationship with a government entity, that I was not severely victimized by the police."

Perhaps you suffer from paranoia or maybe there is a conspiracy between the auto dealer and the local police.

Your daughter doesn’t need counseling but you need better direction on how to be a strong parent.
