Cruise America Cruise America RV Rental Worst RV Rental Company Ever Internet
We picked up a Cruise America RV in Omaha Ne, having been told if we had any problems, call the 800 number and road side assistance would take care of any problems.
Arriving at a Texas campground we found the roof air conditioning was not working, called the 800 number and they stated that the thermostat had been discontinued because it was defective, yet they were left in operation.
The next morning, we called again, and were told that we had to drive the RV to a repair center, spending our vacation running thier errands. The AC cournd not be repaird, no parts were available and we would have to do without AC. We requested a different RV and were told that there were none available in the states of Texas or Oklahoma (even though we were looking at two units in the parking lot.
The National Weather Service website gave the following high temperatures for our time there, July 28 101, July 29 101, July 30 100, July 31 103, August 1 107, August 2 110, and August 3 109.
It was miserable, but since they wouldn't give a refund or discount we were stuck for payment. The rental agreement says that almost any breakdown is not a failure of the camper and the best that would be done is offering $30.00 a day for a hotel, on top of what had been spent. So we had to pay for the daily rental, mileage, and gas at 7 mpg is not the 10 promised. They did give a minor discount for our inconvenience for having to take thier camper in for repair on our time. Other than that they didn't care or make any offers for giving us a defective camper we rented in good faith.
