Have you ever heard of scam? This is the scam that all the sudden pops out everywhere. First, it is too good to be true. Second, only a check is not supposed to represent a valid prize without any further verification. Third, it is too good to be true. Last, it is a common sense that taxes of a prize should be withheld by the issuer before it gets sent to you. How would IRS be sure that they will get the taxes from the prize receiver if the prize issuer just sends the prize to the receiver? It is a scam using human greed...
