D & B Fleet Maintenance roadside truck repair rippoff Cincinnati, Ohio
This company ripped us off for over $500 for a repair that entailed nothing more than replacing a missing alternator adjusting bolt! And as if that wasn't bad enough,once the bill was paid and our driver got under way,about 60 or so miles later, truck began having the same problem that prompted the original service call !
Our driver fortunately had a relative near-by that was able to come out and assist and lo and behold discovered that the service tech had created the problem that led to this second break-down-he had broken a major wire(apparently done while climbing up and down in engine compartment) leading to the alternator which disrupted the charge to the batteries. When I called back to complain and request that they "make it right" Eddie (at B&D fleet maintnce)stated that he had sent out a "new rookie" and agreed that the rookie should have in fact caught/fixed this damage but in light of this he(eddie) didn't feel any responsibility to do anything about it!
And as if all this wasn't bad enough, eddie quoted initially an $84 flat hourly labor rate for the repair but actually charged $95 hourly rate and though the technician wrote out the bill for three hours labor and about $32 worth of parts(which should have made the bill about $317+tax) they demanded payment in excess of $500.When called on to explain this discrepancy-eddie gave some cockamamie excuse about him having to send another tech to fetch the part and hand it off to the tech making the repair?! Eddie after two minutes or so hung up on me.
This outfit is a total scam and they were flagrant about it! I only hope through this posting ,that other truckers and trucking companies may be saved from being ripped-off by this scheister "company" . If anyone reading this knows where i might lodge further complaint(s) that will likely be effective against this crook,I hope you will let me know.
