You take your car in for repair. The dealer has to call Service Contracts for an ok to do the work. That takes two days or more. If they give ok for work and the work is done at the dealer. they have to fax work order to Service Contracts for payment. That is another 24 to 48 hour turn around. Keep in mind that if you are on PST they are on EST so they go home at 5:00 P.M.

so you have to wait for next day for a replay. When you call Service Contracts In Troy MI. They are not what you call service helpful kind of company.

Save your money when you go to buy a car and they offer you the extened warranty from CHRYSLER, DODGE, JEEP. Save yourself the time and trouble and BUY A TOYOTA !!! Read the April 2008 Consumer Reports about EXTENDED WARRANTIES A HIGH PRICE GAMBLE. You will see why the dealers try to push you to buy them. THEY MAKE A LOT OF MONY OFF OF THEM AND YOU.

I purchased an maximum care service contract on my Mercedes. Chrysler Service Contracts is a nightmare to deal with. The will give authorizations to servicers and then change their mind on covering the repairs after the fact. I have had service work done at both the Mercedes dealer/servicer and later at an Independent Mercedes servicer. Both servicers end up spend hours, days on the phone having to argue about getting paid on the repairs. No one knows what they are doing at Chrysler Service Contracts. They will use any excuse to not pay your claim and have no idea about the vehicles they authorize to repair. Do not buy a Chryler Serivce Contract.

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500.  I have never, I'm 70 y/o, gotten an extended warranty.  However, with the extremely high cost of vehicle repairs, we decided to purchase the 7/100 maximum care upgrade.

In 2007 the water pump went out when we were 15 miles from town.  I called the number for assistance.  The individual I spoke with got my information and said he'd call right back.  I thought, "Oh yeh", where have I heard that before".

In less than five minutes he called me.  I asked if he needed a name for the nearest dealer and he said, "No, I've already got it".  The tow truck is on it's way.

Sure enough in less than an hour my vehicle was in the shop.  The repairs were made and I picked up the vehicle the next day.  It was absolutely outstanding.

The biggest issue I have is with the local dealer, the only one in town.  I've had my vehicle in there about 4 time for waranty work.  They always ask me if I purchased the vehicle there?  The third time they were a little slicker and asked, "whick salesman sold you the truck".

That concerns me, I don't think it should make any difference if I purchased the vehcile at their dealership, the warranty still applies.  It makes me wonder if I will not get as good of service if I didn't buy it at the dealership?
