Daniel Marks, a North Las Vegas attorney, is a crotchety old bald-headed guy who I wouldn’t let shine my shoes much less represent me in court. Steer clear of this guy, don’t let him make you his next mark! Some things I wish I knew before engaging him: like I said, he’s a crotchety old fart who ultimately does what he wants to do and doesn’t pay attention to his clients' desires; I found out that he’s been heavily in debt; he’s full of hot air and caves in at the first glimmer of resistance from the judge (picture a helium balloon just after it’s been pricked by a pin – it flies all over the place and quickly lands in a limp heap on the floor). His fees are totally inflated, in my opinion, for the amount of effort and work he puts in (which is pretty sparse from what I’ve seen). I wish he was as diligent about the law and representing clients as he is about collecting his ridiculous fees.

Here’s a tell-tale sign of a lousy lawyer who’s lost his way in the world of attorneys: Go to Avvo.com, which is where lawyers are rated, and you’ll see he has a three-star ranking (out of 5) and a 6.5 (out of 10 rating), which means he does “D” work, which is about right. How would you like a guy who gets a “D” working for you? You’d be better off going and hiring some kid just out of law school who just passed the bar to represent you. You’d get someone who’s hungry, who wants to win, who doesn’t charge an arm and a leg, who’s got some energy, and who’s in it for more than the money, unlike Mr. Marks.

Daniel Marks, Las Vegas Attorney -- I Wish I Had Found This Review of Him Before Engaging His "Services"

You know, kick me in the head -- it always serves you to do some research on your own. I wish I had found this writeup before I started working with him. Or at least trying to work with him. Once he had my retainer, forget it! Weeks of unreturned phone calls turned into months. It's like the guy disappeared from the face of the earth.

I had no idea he had that low of grades from Avvo. Serves me right, I guess. I had someone who knew someone who used him refer him to me. Daniel Marks is a worthless scum sucker in my opinion. He has the business etiquette of a rock -- again, my opinion. But the tipoff should have been when he "accepted" me as a client and was so eager to take my money. No wonder! I had what I thought might be a complicated case, and he seemed to brush all concerns aside. At first I felt like I had gotten the right guy, because it seemed like that was bravado or "chutzpah". But I see now that he just wanted to grab my money.

His inaction has made things even worse for me, as I assumed there would be some forward motion. No. Nothing. Zip. Nada. Unfortunately, he has reinforced my opinion of lawyers in that they're only in this line of work for the money and could care less about the services they render. Take the money and run!

Avvo gives him a D-minus. I think he's sunk to the level of an F! Listen to me, folks. Do not do business with this guy. You'll regret it!
