Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
After enduring a nightmarish year and a half dealing with Daniels Residential Construction of Tea, South Dakota (near Sioux Falls), I feel it necessary to share this experience with would-be home buyers in the Sioux Falls area before they get scammed by this crooked and fraudulent general contractor. This is our review:

Two years ago we signed on with Daniels Construction, also doing business as Daniels Residential, North Ridge Sioux Falls, Sunset Ridge LLC, Legacy Ridge, Timberline, and Candle Development. (A lot of DBA's, I know!) We were excited to have them build our dream home, just on the southern outskirts of Sioux Falls. Before we knew it, we had become embroiled in the biggest ripoff of our lives. Daniels Residential Construction deviated from the blueprints, shortchanging us on dimensions of the garage and several of the rooms. There were countless incidences of shoddy workmanship and poor quality construction, including major cracks in the walls, a foundation that has slid out of place, a leaky roof and inproper sloping yard which floods our basement any time it rains. Even dangerous conditions in this mess! We hired a structural engineer who said it was amazing the city even signed off on the building permit and that our house was barely inhabitable. What a death trap!

We tried dealing with James Daniels, the owner of Daniels Residential Construction, but he was hostile and abusive every time we attempted to reason with him. He taunted us, saying things like "too bad" and "sue me if you don't like it."  Jim Daniels also dodges calls (he knows how to use his Caller ID), and we may have no recourse but to sue Daniels Residential Construction in court. Jim Daniels just laughed at us and said "take a number and get in line...everybody wants to sue us!" Daniels Residential Construction has a long list of people litigating, so I guess we WILL have to get in line.

His agent, Mike Niemeyer, isn't any better. Niemeyer just blows us off and refers us to Daniels, who dodges our calls anyway.  These losers are the biggest frauds!  Now I hear from a co-worker that James Daniels is a convicted felon, who served time in prison for embezzlement a few years ago. I hope that's not true, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was. They also hire illegal aliens for day laborers.

You would be well-advised to steer clear of this crooked home builder. Daniels Residential Construction is a sham and there are numerous complaints already on file against them by the BBB.

There is nothing false in my critique of Daniels Residential Construction

Well...how nice that an agent of Daniels Residential Construction in Sioux Falls, South Dakota would slither out from under his slippery little rock to defend the fraudulent company that obviously lines his pockets.

As you stated, you are an agent of Daniels Residential, and are likely paid handsomely for your "day to day activities."  Therefore, you have substantial pecuniary benefit in defending Daniels' crooked actions at any cost, and thus have far more motivation to lie than I do.  You make piles of money from Daniels Construction, money stolen from the pockets of innocent home buyers.  Therefore, I find your shrill and feeble attempt to cover for your crooked employer to be ludicrous. Your indignant attitude fools nobody here. Nice try.

Instead of acting whiny and defensive, why don't you encourage your employer to start being more honest and forthcoming with its customers?
Why don't you motivate your employer to start doing better quality work for its home buyers?
Why don't you press your employer to stop his pattern of ripping off the good customers he seems to have a habit of betraying?
Why don't you encourage James Daniels to be a man for a change and do the right thing, and maybe do so yourself?
Is that too much to ask for?

But, no, you choose to cover up for what is clearly a bogus and shady construction contractor who is merely being called out for the shoddy work that it does and the dismal customer service it provides.

You are nothing more than a shill for a con artist.

Nothing in the initial posting on Ripoff Report is false or in any way untruthful. I'm sorry that you cannot live with the truth that was stated in that post.  I hope you can sleep at night, knowing that you too reap benefits from a contractor that screws its customers.  What a piece of work you are.  Shame on you.

Maybe Daniels Residential Construction should get its act together and start acting like a legitimate business for a change. But I do not hold out much hope for that.  There's just too much money to be made by people like you and Jim Daniels, ripping off the good people of Sioux Falls, SD.

I stand by my previous report.
