My husband and I, hire mr. Becknell Danny
from 146 shetland trl, in Dale Tx.78616
On the 4th of January 2009. Total loss $almost 18.000. (Without to calculate the real loss from all furnitures/computers lamp, rug, floor etc.. and job to redo.)
Official actual business name today :ARTISTIC INTERIORS OF TEXAS. Also go under OTHERS scams artists names.: Floor etc... Probably existing others names as well, that we do not know yet.
When Mr. Becknell and Ms. Barefield arrive at our home the first time, both were very nice, the lady very charming!.Mr. Becknell way to attract people. A guy who look like everyone friend, everyone buddy! Texas style, clothes and Hut, have a very pronounced accent and speak loud to intimidate others, as I saw. Mr. Becknell explained to us, redo. Installing tiles, stones are his specialty.
We requested references, licenses and a proof of being bounded.
Mr. Becknell show us all that and more.
I went to internet, look at the BBB, search everywhere, did not find anything negative. Mr. Becknell sent to us pictures of work he did.
Mr. Becknell was supposed to paint the kitchen cabinets then place splash back and granite in the kitchen.
2 bathrroms upstair. and one little kids closet, alone with one wall in the family room to be textured.
We started to paid $11,000 on the 4th of January2009. this was to start the job. Order the stone and the granite. The entire cost would have been around $26.000
The subcontractor came paint the kitchen cabinets and the demolition started I was upset the way the building of the closet started, the step son of mr. Becknell had no tools, and I find him into the room cutting sheet rock with my tools (did not even ask for).The worst, no protection at all, on the floor, all over the room, nails razors blade etc... A huge dust over computers, bed everywhere. big hole on the floor and scratch everywhere on the laminate.
I complaint to Mr.Becknell, a day later finally when the damage had occurred came to put something on the floor. too late for my floor.
Of the minute the painter finished their work, cabinets painting, Mrs Barefileld immediately show up requesting $2000 for the withdraw of the painter and $1800 for the vanity's.(Another story).
Mr. Becknell Danny ask to write the check only on Mrs Barefield name and not on Mr. Becknell. As we saw later on, Mr. Becknell pretending to be sick on the corner of a neighbor home.
I refused and write both name on the check. Ms Barefield pretend to have been to the bank 15 mn later, telling me, the check cannot be cash understanding the bank request only one name . Her name.
I went myself to the bank, that was no problem. My deduction today, this was a trick to extort money from us, so later, Mr Becknell would have request another check, pretending he would have never received anything.(there are not married) Mr. Becknell last month only requested money even know we had paid him already. Everything was good enough to try. One example, "I need to paid my boys, please send me $1800, You need to paid for the work $3000." The reality was different, I find out my stone had paid over$5000, are only $1600.
Tiles are now more expensive please sent $1590, Granite is upgrade please pay $4000... etc... We were stupid and paid the upgrade of the granite and the tiles.
Mr. Becknell only really work, is sitting on computer searching a alibi to extort money from his client.!
Mr. Becknell let people work for demolition. Mess were left inside and outside, kitchen counter top, my microwave my furnitures outside no protection and left for days, I could not carry the microwave that too heavy All we retrieve all furnitures inside my breakfast tables and chairs are now so damage that we have to purchase news. The spray that has been use to paint the kitchen cabinet were so strong that my son and I were sick with headache and others very unpleasant symptoms for weeks.
Mr. Becknell "apprentice" step son, pursued to do both of the bathrooms, no plumber license nothing.
Then all stop, Subcontractors started to complaints about mr. Becknell that they have not been paid. show up at my home asking for money. . (Mr.becknell continue to be either sick from the flu, or have headache, or simple back pain.. We understand and wait..) When finally I went to Mr. Becknell news pictures that he continued to send me, I saw a name. I contacted the name of the pictures mr. Becknell by mistake sent to me.I look the internet the people phone number and contact them.. those families have been rip off as well... Mr Becknell has the audacity to use pictures of others , invading privacy homeowners he has scam. Exposing trough internet all interiors homes. The job are not even from him. All the victims, all same scenario! Some even lost more.
and while I was speaking with one of them, I could feel the emotion, the distress they have been trough.
Paying for the granite, stones woods, etc.. But never actually show up, letting people waiting for months promising every days a (tomorrow Coming!) Using pretext not to show up.. Mostly back pain.Or telling story people has rip hom off,
bad check from people,. Mr. Becknell do not make a deal before he has secure his % of money from his victim. Has cash first the ckeck. not vice versa!

and finally disappears with the money you have paid him in good faith.
Until now, for some reason, that scam artist could get away with his scams.
May be due to the fact that Mr. Danny Becknell seems to change business name one after one. keep changing his phone number as often as possible along with his emails address.
Today, 3 months later, we eat from the new microwave and fridge, that everything else in the kitchen is not plug in, no counter top, electrical wires are exposed in the kitchen and in the bathroom area, fiberglasses expose, no vanity's
no toilet, nothing!
We live into a complete devastated broken home, broken furnitures dust and mess, that I cry.. my animal and I, were electrocuted as well cut badly from the broken mirror left everywhere at home and in the garden into the grass.
The dust is so intense that everyday a huge dust continue to fall down.
Mr. Becknell came one day while I was not home, (two weeks ago without my knowledge) went trough the garage, vandalize my stair case wall from the stair, and put a knife upright to the support of the counter top.Tools are missing. Mr. Becknell also went to places he was not allowed if I would have been present. I hope that we will not find something unpleasant the time to come.
certain rooms were close, like the office of my husband. that room was open.
The inside on the office desk was obviously open. That I know beside mr. Becknell, no one was into my home.
I have talk about this issue but he denied.
When I ask him why the hole? Mr. Becknell said, he just feel upset.
We know now for sure we have been scams.
Yesterday finally, I took the courage to trough out with my son everything outside the home. We are alone in the mess. A will take months to remove all the mess, and very expensive that we have to redo all the bad job done and repair

Now,Mr. Becknell call me and was crying on the phone, asking me for $7000 so he could paid the granite and the stone, (that we have already paid!) I said no. Mr. Becknell danny now told me he will commit suicide... Then the last knew he is going in process to bankruptcies, so we should no long write him or call him.
Mr. Becknell today sit comfortable with his wife partner in front of the tv, sleep well, knowing nothing can really happened to him. By experience rip off others!!
He knows, the damage done will not affect him at all. this is for us stupid people. He will continue his pervert game, looking probably to attract others families. Mr. Becknell also very well knows, that if the subcontractors are not paid, Stupid clients must paid the subcontractor. this is the Texas law!
So today While living into a broken home with nothing. I will have to be obigated on top to paid for the subcontractor! Very pleasant, very fair! while that Mr. Becknell run, has a cell phone and play the big boy with the money of his victims! I want to warn others DO NOT Allow a Becknell danny to approach your property, You will be like all of us put into a emotionally and financially distress, that words cannot explained.
Home insurance will not covered the damage from the scam artist.
Mr. Becknell bound does n t not exist, all his references and papers proof of being insured are as well fake as Mr. Becknell work.
Now, we are alone, I am not sure how we will survive this. But knowing that nothing can be done beside this website, knowing that this scam artist sleep, eat, has fun time with my $18.000 while we stay in the mess with no help to expect, make me sick.

Danny Becknell bid some remodeling work at my house as well. I called his references and checked out other projects he was currently working on. He seemed to check out fine. Little did I know that he was going to steal my money. Danny Becknell scammed me out of almost $7000. He gave me the same sob stories as the people scammed above. (truck broke down, sickness, hardshipts, etc) When I realized I was being scammed I finally contacted the Consumer Fraud dept in my county & hired a lawyer. He was arrested a couple of years later and part of his probation was to pay me back the money that he owed. He has finally done that. He is claiming now that I owe him money for materials.....oh please. He never produced any work or materials. If you haven't contacted the consumer fraud dept - do so NOW!!!!!

Have you filed a report to your local police about Danny L. Becknell II? If not yet, I suggest you report it. Danny also left a project with us unfinished, and took more than $8,000.
Yes, Danny give us a lot of promises/excuses/lies whatever you may call it. Guys, where are you located? Perhaps we could file the report together? We are from San Antonio, TX.

Dear reader, a had come to my attention, that Mr. Becknell has expose a picture of someone else bathroom as response to my long story ! OF course this is not one of our bathroom !!! Mr. Becknell seems to be very qualified to expose someone else pictures as well a large selection of master work created and done from professionals not in any kind related to him.
Our home has been repaired, cost around $80.000. Stairs, bathrooms, walls kitchen etc.. I would like also to add that Mr. Becknell only work at my home.(becknell working himself) placing the range hood.
After a control of a inspector regarding the range hood ("JO"B of Becknell) we would have today no home. The range hood would have let the grease coming to the attic and burn our home. So much for Becknell ability's to do A JOB alone !!
I also have ask MR. BEcknell Dany from Dale to stop his harassment via.mails as well his insults !!!!
So fare I know, we are the victims ! So fare we know, that guy stole our money, let others people work and did paid them !!!I have learn my lesson before hiring a contractor. I check the BBB as well ask the insurance policy in which I verifies that the person is actually insure. If you choose to hire a contractor that show you beautiful pictures and pretending to be the owner of the work. Ask to talk to the owner, as well the home and phone number. Make sure this is not fake. Mr Becknell WONDERFUL PICTURES showed to us, doesn't belong to him !!!! I had the privilege to talk to the people as well the architect of Austin Texas related of pictures we saw from Becknell ! Like shower etc.. Becknell was not only a nightmare for us but others !
Something else, Mr. Becknell pretension to have a huge company is only illusion lol !! If this would have been the case, My lawyer would have make sure to get back to him.. Again MR. Becknell Stop your harassment &insults toward us. You have a lot of audacity to expose someone else bathroom. Until today no one had confronted you via internet. You do not scare me ! You have done your game and abuse people for to long.

$10,300. Major Bathroom Renovation - entire shower and bathtub, double vanity and granite counter top, cabinet, doors and complete tiled including laundry room.
May 24, 2011 - signed contract, - paid half, $5,150
June 14, 2011 - paid $1,305 for plumbing fixtures
June 20, 2011 - paid $400 for upgrade
July 21, 2011 - demolition and installed cabinet, - paid $1,500 cash advance
July 22, 2011 to present - left our bathroom unfinished.
August 2, 2011 - he told us he has so much personal problem to take care, but promise will finish the job soon.
September 19, 2011 - he sent us an email, saying; "Mark I am at Attorneys filing Chapter
7...I am shut down...I am going to try to keep you outside so I can somehow get
you done...I am flat bankrupt, having to move .I am not just leave you to the
wind... Danny
We asked his attorney's name and address - he never gave it to us. He is a big liar, he will give you a lot of promises, will take your money as much as he could, but never get the job done.
We don't want other people to fall in the same trap we have.

I too have had an unpleasent business experience with Mr. Becknell in which verbal agreed work was never delivered. He is a man of many promises and is very good at keeping you thinking he will do whatever he said he will. He does verbally attack people and try to intimidate. He currently sells anything to pay his bills including wood and puppies. Avoid him at all cost he is a con-man now residing in luling Texas on cr 116 in a house he rents from a man that thinks he will buy it from him even though we all know he wont but all that live around him are aware of what he does.

THE STORY IS LONG. HOWEVER 6 MONTHS WITH NOTHING TO LIVE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. WE ARE JUN 23 2009, WE LIVE INTO A COMPLETE DEVASTATED HOME. WE WERE HONEST AND UNDERSTAND THAT PSEUDO CONTRACTOR BECKNELL NEEDED THE MONEY TO BUY BY DALTILE THE TILES AND THE GRANITE AS WELL THE VANITY'S/ AND THE WOOD STAIRS AS TO START THE WORK THIS IS WHY WE PAID THE DOWN PAYMENT. THE CONTRACT AMOUNT AROUND $25,000 WE PAID OVER$18.000 A DOWN PAYMENT FOR 4 PROJECTS. WE COULD HAVE GONE TO LOWES OR HOME DEPOT, WE WERE THINKING THAT THE MONEY SHOULD STAY IN TEXAS AND NOT GOING TO BIG CORPORATION. THIS WAS A FUNDAMENTAL MISTAKE THAT WE WILL OUR LIFE NEVER FORGET. WE WOULD NEVER ASSUME A MINUTE THAT WE HAD A CONTRACT WHO TURNED TO BE CROOK! A MEN WHO HAS NO SHAME AND LIVE OF COST OTHERS. I HAVE TO SAID THAT HIS APPROACHES TO US WAS PERFECT! Becknell nightmare end yesterday April 2, 2009. After having a license inspector' and contacted the police, I find out that becknell Danny, artistic interiors of Texas aka floor etc.. who reside in Dale, has a warrant arrest .
We know know that that guy will never return our merchandises, will never be punish to have demolish my home, letting us with nothing then devastation.
Our $20,000 gone. not to talk all the damage and all stolen items.
I will however file lawsuit against becknell and girl friend, since she did take checks from us,
I know we are not alone with our devastation, If you have been the victim of that couple, or becknell alone, please write to me. The more people we are the better way to punish him for his action.
For others, be aware that the guy soon or later after jail time, will come back.
He will only create a big mess, and damage! You will never receive anything good!
He will lie, he will tried to scaring you! Like he done to me
All the poor job from Becknell step son has to be demolish, if i would not had the good idea to contact a inspector, I would have hire another contractor, to finish the job which may have produce further grave damage, understanding that Mr. Becknell
played with electric wires and water source together.
That the pipe into the shower would have at the first pressure of water provoke into the wall a huge water disaster between walls. To finish, the range hood mr Becknell himself installed would have let us with a inside fire..
So remember get fare away from Becknell Danny lll from dale, Do not let into your home, believe me, or believe others, he is a dangerous guys.

Some change,
the contractor did end of march, show up, a new to me subcontractor is now working up stair after a waiting period of 11 weeks, 2 months and 3 weeks. Finally the subcontractor is doing the job .A good job.
My kitchen still is dead.
We hope now, to see some change for the near future. Still now we still have no kitchen to be use properly.
We are no over yet.. Wait and hope that this living nightmare will soon terminated..
