The OP in this post clearly does not understand the difference between a "headhunter" employed by a placement agency and an agent, such as yourself, who represents the individual - much as a professional athlete is represented by an agent. The difference is who pays the fee. The OP is under the belief the company you were negotiating with would pay the fee. They don't in your case, just as the team the professional athlete plays for would not pay the fee; the athlete would pay the fee. As long as the individual read the contract signed with you, there should not be any misunderstandings - or so I would think. I personally have met agents such as yourself out here in CA and while I prefer not using them because the salary differential between what you could get for me and what a "headhunter" could gt for me in a role like mine would not equate to $15K-$20K per year, or even 2 years. I understand your role and in an upper management role, it makes a lot of sense to utilize someone in your capacity.....

David Werner International has reviewed the allegations posted by this individual because we take each and every one of them seriously. For every posting, we search our records to discover who the individual is and respond on a case-by-case basis. Like most of the postings about our company on this website, it should come as no surprise that this complaint by an alleged client is fictitious. David Werner International has no client with these initials. However, we would direct your attention to a recent update to a posting dated July 7, 2008 which now states the following: On July 7, 2008, I submitted a posting under the name agray, redding connecticut that included certain statements which were of a negative nature concerning David Werner International Corporation and David Werner. It was never my intention to defame David Werner International Corporation or David Werner. Therefore, I have voluntarily decided to withdraw the previous posting. Unfortunately, ripoffreport.com will not do so based on its policy of only allowing retractions, rather than withdrawals, of previous postings. Therefore, without admitting liability and with full knowledge that I am entitled to defend myself and the statements I made previously, I am formally retracting the entire statement. I have not been paid for this retraction and make this statement of my own free will and accord. I hereby state that David Werner or David Werner International Company is not to blame for my employment situation and I further state that David Werner International is not, as I previously posted, a slick con artist organization and/or swindles people out of their money. I will also note that I was specifically informed in writing and orally that various factors affect the marketability of a specific candidate, including the economy and the personal chemistry between the candidate and the employer. David Werner International carried out its duties as described in the agreement between Gray and DWIC competently and with diligence. It performed the research to target certain venture capital and private equity firms and then drafted correspondence to these firms on my behalf. Accordingly, David Werner International did everything it was obligated to do under the above agreement to market me to prospective employers. Therefore, I retract the statements in the posting dated July 7, 2008. I also apologize to David Werner and David Werner International for posting these statements and the resulting consequences of my actions. Alexander Gray Redding, Connecticut Suffice it to say, David Werner International intends to avail itself of all legal remedies and will pursue the individuals who seek to slander our company with false and untrue allegations.
