This is more two companies in one story. Back in August of 2008, I got a opportunity to work with Mad Town Promotions, which changed over to ACE Advertising. They told me everything I wanted to hear. Fresh out of college, earn big money (actually 6 figures in a year) and run your own company within a year. Business-to-Business sales, the works I was with demoralized me. I made a $100 sale, my partner for the day, told me that was supposed to be his sale and his money.
Quite offensive towards a certain religion and went to certain bars because certain females with gifted chest were working. I was naive, I thought I could overcome it this horrible job. I couldn't it. I left after about a month. The new owner, since the old owner, Lonnie who went to Ohio, try to convince to stay. Honestly, he pleaded with me to stay.
Since that experience, I have been searching for a new job. I came across a DDM Inc, in Brookfield. Their website was somewhat legit, www.ddminc.biz and they have a myspace page. I looked at and gave the company a chance. I had an interview with them this past Friday. The minute I walked into the office building. It was the same setup as the Mad Town, which is now ACE, in Madison. It was not good.
I over heard the employees telling the people going on interviews "let me load up the car". Right there and then, I wanted to say to the interviewees "don't do it, its not worth it." The female who was in charged called me into her office, and asked me three simple questions. I knew what to say, not to get a second interview. "Work Inside, not deal with people and be on a computer." That was it, she said I was not quite the person they were looking for. However, she did like how I was dressed. If that was a poly to lure me back, it didn't work.
One more piece of advice to the general public: if you are on CareerBuilder or Monster and you are looking for a entry level pr job or marketing. Be very careful of the confidential companies. They could be the DDM's or ACE's of the world.
All this is coming from a young guy looking for a chance.
