On July 6, 2013 I answered an ad on PuppyFind.com for a  female GSP puppy placed by one Chris Bucceri. The ad indicated that the dog had "Show potential" and was "Champion sired".  It also indicated that the pup would have a Vet examination, Health certifiate and Health guarantee.  These assertions were not true.  The sire, Bucceri's Duke, has no recorded titles.  When I asked about the pup's Vet exam, I was told that none of Bucceri's dogs had seen a veterinarian in past 20 years.  Later Bucceri bragged that he shipped many of his dogs to other states and foreign countries.  This activity requires a signed, current "Health Certificate" but Bucceri refused to provide the name of the Vet that conduct's the examinations.

The only documents I received related to the pup I purchased were a vaccination/de-worming schedule and an AKC "official ownership registration form".  One day after obtaining dog,  I was advised by the owners of the Sharp Shooter Kennel, a name which Bucceri uses to market his dogs, that the flesh colored spot on my pup's nose is a genetic flaw, not apparent in their line.  The presence of this spot disqualifies the animal from all "AKC Conformation Competitons" and greatly reduces her value for future breeding purposes.

I confronted Bucceri with the above listed misrepresentions and directed him to hold my check until we had resolved the issues.  He accused me of extortion, said that he contacted his attorney and the police then proceeded to my credit union to obtain cash for the check.  Bucceri has recently left me a phone message indicating that he has provided local authorities with documentation which demonstrates " Fraud" on my part. My encounter with Chris Bucceri was one contradiction after another.  He pointed out client's dogs in attendance for him to train and later remarked that his severe back pain prevented most training activites.

Bucceri's false allocations and threats have forced me to go on record in defence of myself and to take actions intended to remove him from my life.  Bucceri claims to have sold 1,400 dogs over the years, however, future buyers should be made aware of my very unpleasant experience and proceed with extreme caution.  At this point I consider my purchase from DeBarb Kennels as an expensive rescue.

I would like to state that I purchased a female shorthair from Buck last June 2013 . I am sorry that Charles had a unfortunate experience with his purchase . I had deposited a female pup from a breeder in PA and 2 days before pick up I was informed she was given to someone else. I searched breeders up and down the east coast and found Buck had pups ready to go. I spoke with Buck on the phone and got in my car and drove from NY to Michigan in 10 hrs. The following morning we met Buck in person and I found him very knowledgeable in breeding and dog training . I had breed shorthairs 15 yrs ago. and he had the same breeding and training methods as I did . I was very impressed with the sire (Duke) and the b***h (Casie) their temperment was what I was impressed with immediately. After taking our 1st trip to PA and being introduced to the b***h of the puppy we were orginally going to purchase I noticed an ernormus difference . Casie & Duke were so friendly with very gentle dispositions, unlike the b***h in PA who snarled and had to be restrained. They both roamed the grounds and took hand and voice commands from Buck. As for the pup we purchased she is the most sound shorthair I have ever had . She is not highstrung and hyperactive like most shorthairs tend to be . She was examined by my vet on our return and found to be one in excellent health, with no parasites or worms. My vet was very impressed and stated she was of show quaility , although I have no intention of showing her. She was already retreiving when we picked her up and pointing at 8 weeks old.

Gracie is now 1 1/2 yrs old and has proven to be THE MOST INTELLIGENT dog I have ever owned and that includes those I have breed and raised. She is not hyper nor destructive and gentle. I'm sorry you feel you have an expensive "rescue dog" . You stated you were told the pup had "show potential" did you not notice the spot on the dogs nose ? These spots do occur as when I was picking up Gracie we met another couple picking up their pup and she too had a spot on her nose. It is very clear to me that you should have known the dog could not be shown with the spot. And you did not have to purchase to at that time. You could have refused the dog at that time . As for the vaccinations I was there and watched Buck administer the vaccinations as well as document the lot# and information from the vials. This may not be something that every breeder does but with years of experiance in breeding it is quite normal.
