Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I did a general Google search on Debt Reduction Americas toll free number of 800-953-7622. Was quite amazed at what all came up. That same number not only relates back to companies employers, but other companies within the company. Not only limited to Debt Reduction America, but: The Loan Corporation, Tampa Debt Adjusters, Mrs. Debtfire, and Tampa Real Estate.

Now most of these companies are lead by the same president of Debt Reduction America, but one in particular Mrs. Debtfire says it is a company of females helping other females however, once again goes to the same toll free number of Debt Reduction America.

Now since these companies lead back to president Harry Hedaya who is well known in the mortgage loan industry it explains some of my questions that took place on my debt analysis. Such as Do you own your home? How much is it worth? How much do you still owe? When did you purchase it? and have you filed any second mortgages on it? Sounds like a lead base to mortgage leads.

Now my consultant told me they have been in business for over 10 years, and there website says they have helped thousands, and some have even completed the program with no problems. However, once I checked them out on bbb.org they have only been in business since December of 2007. So for someone to have completed there program they were on what a 3-4 month program? Not very likely going to happen when they need a hardship story of why you are struggling with your debt and you need to owe over $5000 or more in debt.

Also they say once you have enrolled you will have a wonderful customer service staff to continually assist you with acushield. Once I checked them on bbb.org once again was shown that they have only been in business since October of 2006 and 31 complaints in last 36 months. So that averages a little over 1 a month. Also 27 of those complaints have been closed with 9 still open in the last 36 months.

Once again told you have a free membership with TASC who assists you with your creditors, but also they have only been in business since September of 2005 longest out of the whole group.

In closing I will further continue with my investigation since you can clearly see I was mislead since the very beginning. Once I have more follow up information I will clearly add on to this continuance. So in the meantime clients beware and always do a bbb report.

#2UPDATE EX-employee responds

Tue, March 02, 2010

I'm an ex employee of debt reduction america.  the company is ligit.  Its run by 3 or 4 people & during my time in working there I was in negotiations.  I've seen them try to do their best to validate the fact that there company is on the up & up but theres always going to be people that are unhappy with services that they've received whether its at a grocery store or anything else.  Unfortunately, I found another job that I'm quite happy with now doing negotiations for another company but I enjoyed my time working there however, Amber is very demanding in regards to making sure that negotiations are going on in the customer's best interest.  I don't really have anything negative to say about the company other than the fact that I dont believe their commission scale is appropriate considering the negotiators do most of the leg work.  Now i'm working a job in negotiations that I am able to work from home & my pay scale is much higher.

Debt Settlement Companies of Any Kind

#3Consumer Comment

When you are searching for a debt settlement company there are some important things that you really do need to consider before choosing the right one that will help you become debt free. There are even some things that you should steer clear from if you want the best possible help for your current financial situation. The first thing that I would like to point out is that any of these companies should be able to save you at least half of your debt including the fees that you have to pay and the paying of your creditors. While on your own you can typically save around half of that without too much effort on your behalf, getting any more relief than that will require a fair degree of experience that you do not have. One thing you need to be aware of when attempting to speak to someone from any debt settlement company is that you should always do your homework first. There are some companies out there that just want to make as much cash as they can off of their clients without any true regard for their own problems. These people say just about anything that you want to hear in order to get you signed up with their programs. One way to see through all of the bs is that some of these companies will tell you that you can set up a monthly payment for any amount that the client wants. This payment will usually be quite low and for a lot longer period of a time that many of the more reputable companies will allow you to have. This obviously will remove the purpose of what you are trying to accomplish because the longer the period of time you have to pay off a loan the more interest that will pile on and the more you will end up having to pay back as a result. A lot of people get into the mind set that there is a magic way to fix any of their problems quickly. These bad companies understand this need and typically are very good at catering to that and as a result sign up thousands of people on a yearly basis. Be careful of what they tell you because at first it may sound like a great deal but they do not usually include how much it will cost you in the long run. The first thing that you need to ask them is if their claims of savings includes their companies fees or not. You should also make certain that you have a realistic time frame for paying back your debt. There is a huge benefit in going with a debt settlement company in that you can become debt free in a short period of time instead of paying the minimum payments to your creditors which with interest takes quite a long period of time to finish up. You should most definitely pick a debt settlement company that is going to focus on getting you debt free in two or less years only. This is because by stretching your payment plan further than three years time you will never get the full benefits that you are seeking out due to increasing interest piling on. The longer the program is that you sign up for the more debt you will end up having to pay out of as a result of it. You should also make certain that the collection calls will be stopped from being made. One of the bad aspects of these debt settlement companies is that in order for your creditors to be willing to let you pay less you are going to have to fall behind on your payments to them. As a result of this you will end up getting several calls from collection agencies. This can be very annoying and just straight up aggravating. So when it comes to getting these calls stopped the only way that you can legally get them to is by having a lawyer from the debt settlement company to represent you. As a result of this they must contact your lawyer or they will be faced with a law suit otherwise. If you are told from your debt settlement company that you can have these calls stopped to make certain that they have a lawyer to aid you in this. By law a collection agency does not have to deal with the debt settlement company unless they provide you with an attorney. If they tell you to just send a cease and desist letter to the collection agency, be careful, because you will leave them with no option but to serve you with papers to appear in court and as a result could end up being sued. You need to make certain that the company you go with is a reputable one. To start with you should check out the better business bureau to see if they have any negative comments regarding their business practices. After this you should consider how long they have actually been in business as a general rule of thumb is that a company that has been in business for over ten years in good standing should give you some sense of peace in knowing that they know what they are doing and have helped a lot of people in the years past. If the company you go with is only a year or two old be wary of this because there are lots of fly by night operations that sign up lots of people knowing that they are not going to be able to help them just to get the collection fees and when that is over and done with they close up shop and start a new company. If you end up going with a law firm you should obviously make sure that they are registered with the state bar association. If you have a problem and complain, they could lose their license, so it is in their best interest to help you if you go with them and do the best job that they can do for their clients. The warning signs are pretty obvious because if a company has a poor record with the better business bureau it would be best to stay away. If the company is fairly new be sure to do your homework before going about getting their services as it would be in your best interests.

April Fools!!! Debt Reduction America OWNER just contradicted themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!

#4Author of original report

As for the claim of this being an ex- associate, that is completely false. I have never worked for this company, and it does not take all that much intelligence to do your own research on the computer via the internet...One link leads to another.... Now for the OWNER of this company to claim " As far as saying we have been in business 10 years and the number of customers we have helped we make no claims of such." My consultant did in fact clearly state they had been in business for ten years. I am just repeating what my consultant told me and possibly it could be improper training on your companies part of your own employees. Now if you do go to debtreductionamerica.com which is your actual homepage and click on Our Solutions then click on Our Results you do state that all of those figures are for Debt Reduction America. This is what you say directly on that page, "These are actual examples of past performance and are not intended to be a guarantee of future settlement results. Results may vary based on individual circumstances. Case results depicted are actual results from customers enrolled in the Debt Reduction America Services' Debt Settlement program." Also longest in your program shown on that same page of your home page is 24 months. Now can you explain to me how this is an actual figure of Debt Reduction America Services' Debt Settlement Program when your business has only been operationable since December 2007? Now in closing, it is so easy to blame an ex employee than to admit knowledge to a dis-satisfied consumer.

#5REBUTTAL Owner of company

Tue, April 01, 2008

Our suspission is that this report has been filed by an ex-employee came to work for us with false intentions from a competitor, a plant as it were. We are investigating this employee and his employer via the appropriate channels. The content of this article leads us to believe that it is written by an individual with a high degree of knowledge about the debt settlement industry and our organization. They are manipulating these facts to suit their needs. I challenge this person to either contact us if they are a "real" consumer, but my suspicions are they will not. So here is a rebuttal of all of the misrepresentations in this report: 800-953-7622 is a toll free number that belonged to The Loan Corporation which ceased doing mortgages in 2007 due to the mortgage market melt-down. This number was re-assigned to Debt Reduction America in January of 2008. Harry Hedaya is president of both Debt Reduction America, and The Loan Corporation. We have no interest in collecting information to generate mortgage leads because anyone with a head on their sholders should know it is virtually impossible to do a mortgage in this enviroment and The Loan Corporation ceased lending avctivities in 2007. As far as saying we have been in business 10 years and the number of customers we have helped we make no claims of such. We are not aware of Acushield even being a member of Better Business Bureau, but we do know they are rated by JD Power and Associates and have never had a problem or complaint from any of our customers about their performance. TASC is simply an industry association of debt settlement companies that lays out guidelines for member companies to abide by, we do not offer consumers memberships to TASC. I think their name was brought in just to have them come up in a search result! If only "Carrie" would reveal herself (or himself) we would be happy to sit with him/her and satisfy all their concerns. As I mentioned earlier, this report is written by an ex associate possibly at the direction of a competitor. P.S. Mrs. Debtfire is simply a concept that one of the owners of our company, Amber Duncan, who was a single mom struggling with credit card debt came up with.
