I received a flyer in the mail with an offer from Dish network. As a consumer currently in the market to switch television providers, I compared them to another company's flyer I received the day before. after reading the offers, I decided Dish Network has a better deal, I called the number 1-800-374-0678, and spoke to a very energetic sales rep. They told me my bill for all the services included was 49.95 per month plus taxes.

I realized this has to be a great deal because the other offers wanted mroe money per additional receiver, and room, and access charges. I asked her about the additional fees that I would get from Dish network, and I was told, NONE, 49.95 plus taxes would be my final bill.

After contacting Dish network only 2 days later. when I realized I was NOT GETTING the 4 room installation I was promised (they only have me 3) I decided to inquire about my bill. They said it was $62.98 per month.

Apparently There were 3 additional Fees, the same ones I asked about I was told would not be on the bill, it was ALL INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE. DVR Fees, Extra Room Fees, and an access fee!

I was told 4 ROOMS and HD programming for 49.95 a month.

What I actually got was 2 ROOMs, SD + Addtional Room fee, + Program Access Fee, + Equipment Protection Fees + DVR + taxes.

DEFENDER SECURITY LIED TO ME! I was able to get everything straightened out by contacting Dish Network, they waived a bunch of fees for me and gave me some free programming for a few months for my inconvenience.

I too called dish network on Oct. 30, 2008 just to compare prices. After speaking with the sales rep I informed her I was only getting prices from different companies today. She transferred me to her supervisor Spencer, who was very nice as well. So to get me to commit that day he promised me a $50.00 visa gift card. I still declined and that's when I was promised by Spencer a $100 gas card. That sounded good and their prices were good so I went with Dish Network. 15 weeks later I still have recieved nothing. I have called several different numbers to get my items but always get the run around. On Dec.17, I called 1-800-374-0678 and was told by a defender direct rep that it would take 6-8 weeks but I would recieve an email first from two companies that would send the cards. They are (((Redacted))) (((Redacted))) It was hard to understand the defender direct rep so I am not sure if the ew is correct. I have emailed both today and I am still waiting for a response. I Will get my stuff eventually. CLICK here to see why Rip-off Report, as a matter of policy, deleted either a phone number, link or e-mail address from this Report.
