Dell Tech support ripoff run around
I purchased a Dell last year,and had no problems until a few months ago when my DVD/CD-Rom died. It has been hell trying to get satisfaction from tech support, ever since.
Upon contacting the techs, and following all instructions they gave, promises were made that a tech would arrive to fix the problem. The scheduled days came and went....no tech ever showed up , or called. The following week we placed more calls. A tech said that they couldn't reach us because the phone number was incorrect! Another promise was made to correct the problem, and more phone calls were promised to be made,etc., etc. Need I say more?
Today, yet another phone call was placed to tech support with the promise that a new CD-Rom was being made!! If we want to know the status of the part we were given a phone number, and a code number to call. After all the hassle with tech support they FINALLY said a part was being made. This was NOT mentioned in previous calls to tech support! I will NEVER buy another Dell! The so called "support" the techs give is nothing more than a pacifier to keep the consumer quiet while they give you the run around.
