Dell Financial Service Dell Financial NIGHTMARE! Round Rock, Texas
What a nightmare dealing with Dell Financial Services, it is impossible to get out of debt with this company. I wish I would have researched before dealing with Dell because they have over a several complaint boards regarding this company.
I ordered a computer from dell in 2005/06. However in the beginning I was paying my payments on time them tragedy struck my family. My daughter became very ill and eventually passed away. I literally withdrew from the world as it was very devastating. I'm still in stages of trying to rebuild my life.
I was working with a debt consolidation company to try and get my bills under control but many things fell behind I was in no shape. All of my creditors have worked with me except Dell Financial.
I called Dell to let the company know that I was working with a credit counseling agency to help get me back on track. In the meantime payments were being made to Dell however the balance would not go down. The computer was $1500 dollars I ordered but I ended up paying much more due to the astronomical finance charges. I just finished school and I was looking for a job after trying to rebuild my life, which took some time due to the bad economy so I am still literally playing catch up with my bills.
I called Dell once I was in a position to try and rectify my bill. My bill was $2952.94. Dell accepted my payments every month from the credit counseling agency. However I was unaware that Dell does not work with any credit counseling agency after making payments for almost a year and the interest and total amount continued to rise.
I called and spoke with a representative name Nikki she was unable to help me so I asked to speak with a supervisor. The next person I spoke to was Stacy. I told her I was able to make payments of $130 per month because this is stretching it for me but I can handle it. However she would not accept it. She stated the only thing she could do for me was $148 per month or three payments of $696.00 dollars which would have been a struggle because of all the other bills I'm trying to catch up with. I asked her if I pay the $148 and have it connected to my checking account to ensure no payments would be missed will Dell remove the negative information and the charge off from my credit report. Stacy said she needed to speak with a supervisor ( which I thought she was because I asked Nikki can I speak with a supervisor and Stacy got on the phone).
Then I hear silence Stacy comes back to the phone and states "My supervisor just happened to be walking pass so I asked him and he said no." I told her this is not true because it has been done for me as another company removed the negative information and sent me a letter that it was done and confirmed. I asked Stacy let me speak with that supervisor you spoke to and she conveniently said "he is not available" but he just walked pass and he is not available??? I asked her for his extension and voice mail and she stated, "he does not have one." In a large company like Dell your supervisor does not have a voice mail and she blatantly refused to put this mysterious "supervisor" on the phone. Next some women name Amanda who stated she was a supervisor gets on the phone who was very rude and dismissive.
All I wanted was to have the negative charge off removed from my credit in exchange for my payment trying to rectify and rebuild. I ended up borrowing from my pension to pay off this account for $2068.00 because I no longer want to be associated with this company. I asked if this account was paid in full can they remove the charge off from this account and they still said no. Most companies do it as a courtesy if a consumer calls to pay off the account in full however my nightmare with Dell still continues. I find their practices very unscrupulous. Rebuilding my life and my credit has been a journey and I thank all of my creditors who worked with me except Dell Financial. I hope consumers really do their research before dealing with Dell Financial.
BYH.. any suggestions on how to deal with a charge off on a credit report!
