Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Not only are Dell customers victims, their employees are also. All of this rotten customer service is forced on the employees. They are trained to lie to customers, their phone conversations are listened to by multiple screeners and if they don't lie to the customer to "get the sale", they don't get paid, it's all about quotas or your out the door. Nothing ethical is even considered. As a matter of fact, the more corrupt you are, the more trophies you have on your desk.

It's not surprising "Cindy" couldn't be found. She more than likely didn't convince enough saps to buy into the lie and was fired. Dell has a continual revolving door - hire in the front door as the losers are fired out the back door. Temps are really disposable as well as "Old" people who were originally hired for the DFS position when it was first put into action. They wanted older, mature, real sales people. They found the young ones didn't know how to rebound with rejections.

Well, the oldies knew the game they were playing with ethics and lies the minute they came out of training and put their foot down. One by one they were put on "action plans" for their poor performance and refusal to illegally sell a bogus financial plan to customers and finally one by one were let go because they were too old. Of course they were given a shut up severance to keep them quiet or forgo it to make noise and try to sue Michael Dell with all of his big attorneys.

Everyone took the severance to pay the bills. And in this economy, none of them has a job yet. I guess it doesn't pay to be honest. In June 2008 a big lawsuit hit DFS for their illegal practices and by the end of July the department was disolved and those employees were either let go or melted into other departments. Of course it was the same job with a different name. No one at Dell knows what they are doing.

Employees are never told how the pay scale works. It can never be explained because it is "too complex" but once you get a few checks, you will be able to kind of figure out what you will get. Fat chance!! If you want to work at Dell, you take what they give when they feel like giving it to you and you either keep your mouth shut or your next check will be your last. If you think there are lawsuits a plenty out there from customers, check for the employee lawsuits.

Michael Dell has himself so far removed from the employees and customers, he is only there for the money $$$. When you read articles about Dell and the word "numbers" or "count", that's the employees. How humilitating to have your boss refer to you as a number or count. If he treats customers and employees like this, can you imagine how his family is treated? Is he a father children would be proud of? I'm sure the wife, if there is one, is only there for the money, wouldn't you be? All Roman Empires fall. Won't we all be laughing then?

I SEE TECHNICAL JOBS FOR DELL THAT ARE GOING UNFILLED BECAUSE ALL OF MY FRIENDS REMEMBER THE MASS FIRINGS IN 2000-2001 AND THEY DO NOT WANT IT TO HAPPEN TO THEM! NO WAY. SO THEY DO NOT APPLY. THEY WANT MORE PERMANENCY IN THEIR LIVES. I KEEP MY EYES OPEN FOR JOB OPENINGS EVERY PLACE AND I HAVE A LOT OF TECH FRIENDS IN THE COMPUTER BUSINESS AND I KNOW A LOT ABOUT IT MYSELF... I WOULD NOT REFER ANYONE I KNOW TO WORK AT DELL AND THAT IS NOT JUST THE CONTRACT SECURITY GUARD LABOR OR THE CONTRACT SALES FORCE -- DOES ADECCO STILL PROVIDE THEM? OR THE CONTRACT LABOR JANITORS WHO ARE TREATED WORSE THAN THEY WERE IN MEXICO ACCORDING TO WHAT I HAVE HEARD --UNLESS THEY WERE REPLACED WITH AMERICANS WHO WILL WORK FOR LESS, BECAUSE IT IS THE DEPRESSION WHERE YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR WHATEVER YOU CAN GET... OR STARVE! I AM SORRY THAT PEOPLE WILL BE ABLE TO BUY FEWER COMPUTERS WHEN THE DEPRESSION HITS. I HAVE NO IDEA WHEN SALES AND JOBS WILL PICK UP AGAIN. MICHAEL DELL WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE COME BACK AND STARTED RUNNING THE COMPANY AGAIN. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THIS CHANGES... THERE IS AN EXPRESSION THAT PAST RESULTS ARE NO GUARANTEE OF FUTURE RESULTS... I WILL LET BUSINESS HISTORIANS HAVE THE OPINION. ALL I CAN REMEMBER IS WHAT I HEARD AND WHAT I SAW... AND WHAT I KNOW. YOU DECIDE IF YOU WANT TO WORK THERE AS A TEMP OR AS A TECH PERSON. GOOD LUCK MAKING IT THROUGH YOUR PROBATION PERIOD IN ANY BUSINESS AROUND HERE ---ESPECIALLY DELL!

I was employed by Dell, when hired we where told many stories of success! we where told that people can be promoted in as short a time as 3 months. we where trained on the basic operations of the computers and questions to ask the customers to better serve there needs. We where also told that we would be working 8-5 monday - friday. We where also told that we would be on what they call a 3 month ramp..this is to get you upto speed. We where told that we would have managers and couches that would help us obtain this speed. The 1st month would be month zero, no numbers would count againest you. Then you would need to hit a min. of 80% of your goals. We where also told that there was no overtime. This is how it really played out! #1 After we where put on sales floor we where told that we would need to obtain a min of 100% for 3 months to be taken out beginner status. we where also told it takes a min. of 8 months in same dept before you can get promoted to another department. Also what ever department you trans to you must stay there a min of 1 year before you can move into another department. #2 The shifts where not all 8-5, only the top performers get 8-5. the shifts where 7-4, 8-5, 9-6, 10-7, 11-8, and 12-9. We where also told that if you wont to succeed you need to work @ least 60 hours per week, and 1 saturday per month. We where also told that even though Dell doesnt have to pay over time that we would recieve chinese over time, paid once every 3 months. but this is not the same practice in all departments, some departments are paid time and half for everything over 40 hrs. #3 As for management, there job was almost like a script. upsell, close, overcome, close. And if you ask any questions you always got the same answer..i dont know! #4 As for ramp up time! that was a joke, after the first month on floor i was put on action plan. I was told i was to nice to customers, tried to answer to many of there questions and was trying to build relationships with customers. I was told keep call to 10 min per customer, close to highest. And always sale what they call pro-support. ( pro-support is a additional charge if they wont to talk to a north american support tech rather that someone from India). I was also told that if someone called in for customer service dump the call. Another problem i had in November and December was saleing computers that we knew would not ship because we didnt have the parts. I was told that was not my business, just sale the computers and let customer service deal with it. ( customer service is also out of India). In closing i still have never been paid for all the overtime, the day i left the company they stopped my insurance even though they had charge me for it. never got that money back either, and they still owe me money. I understand why so many customers stay upset at Dell, and why you never talk to someone that has worked at Dell that doesnt fill they have been taken advantage of. I also know why dell is a 60B a year corp. they do it on the backs of there employees and the wallets of there customers.

MY BROTHER WAS CALLED IN TO DELL WHEN THEY HAD THE FIRST MAJOR LAYOFFS BACK IN 2000 - 2001 DURING THE GREAT MELTDOWN OF THE TECH CORPORATION MELTDOWNS...THE SCENE WAS AT THE CORPORATE HQ IN ROUND ROCK AND HE WAS OF MANY ARMED SECURITY GUARDS THAT THE WACKENHUT CORPORATION'S SECURITY GUARD CONTRACTING SERVICES ( DELL DOES NOT EVER HIRE ANYONE HE DOESN'T HAVE TO, RELYING MAINLY ON TEMPS AND DISPOSABLE PEOPLE TO CUT EXPENSES) WHO CAME IN TO MAKE SURE THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SUDDENLY FIRED DID NOT HAVE TIME TO THINK ABOUT WHAT HAPPENED TO THEM. THEY WERE GIVEN BOX AND LOADED IT WITH THEIR BELONGINGS AND THEY WERE OUT OF THE DOOR WITH THE PRECISION OF A ROBOTIC SURGEON'S CUT. SHORT, NOT SO SWEET, BEFORE THE PERSONS WHO WERE FIRED HAD A TIME TO EVEN THINK OR BARELY CATCH THEIR BREATH. SOME OF MICHAEL DELL'S ORIGINAL CREW WHO HELPED MAKE HIM RICH WAS ALSO OUT THE DOOR WITHOUT SO MUCH AS A THANK YOU. THEY WERE USED AND DISCARDED WITH ALL OF THE COMPASSION AND CONCERN THAT YOU WOULD TOSS A BEER CAN, USED KLEENEX OR OTHER GARBAGE. IT WAS LIKE HITLER'S NIGHT OF THE LONG KNIVES. CAN'T REMEMBER WHETHER OR NOT HE TOLD ME IF THERE WERE LOCAL OFF-DUTY COPS THERE OR NOT BUT THE IDEA WAS THAT THE UNARMED INTELLECTUAL GEEKS WOULD SWOON AND BE COMPLETELY INTIMIDATED BY THE SHOW OF FORCE, PISTOLS AND UNIFORMS. IN FACT, MICHAEL DELL REMINDS ME A LOT OF HITLER BUT HE IS JEWISH AND HAS USED A LOT OF HIS MONEY TO BUILD THE DELL JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER WHERE HE WANTED TO ROUND UP ALL OF THE JEWISH CONGREGATIONS INTO ONE PLACE --A RATHER BAD IDEA IN THESE DAYS OF THE SURPRISE TERRORIST ATTACK AND SEVERAL JEWISH PEOPLE I KNOW DID NOT WANT THE SECURITY RISK AND THY OBJECTED TO THE WAY HE DID BUSINESS AND DID NOT WANT TO PROFIT FROM THE BREAD OF TEARS AND AFFLICTION BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE JEWISH WAY TO DO BUSINESS. MICHAEL DELL DOES NOT SPEAK FOR ALL JEWISH PEOPLE AND HE SURE AS HELL DOESN'T SPEAK FOR THIS JEW! BUT MICHAEL DELL JUST DID WHAT HE THOUGHT HE HAD TO DO TO MAKE IT AND I GUESS HE DID BUT HE HAS HAD TO HUSTLE AND KEEP HUSTLING WITH SOME OF THE RECENT LOCAL CLOSINGS AND ASPECTS OF HIS EMPIRE BEING MOVED TO TENNESSEE AND OTHER THIRD WORLD LOCALES. PROBLEMS WITH THE FINANCING CENTER --THEY SAY... YOU CAN READ ABOUT THEM HERE. A RELATIVE WHO WORKED IN A COMPUTER LAB TOLD ME ABOUT HAVING TO HELP HIS BOSS REPLACE ALL OF THE DELL DESKTOPS WHEN THE MOTHERBOARDS OVERHEATED AND THE ELECTRONICS INSIDE FRIED -- CIRCUITS MESSED UP AND I PERSONALLY LOST A DELL LAPTOP THE SAME WAY... THE EXTERIOR OF A DELL LAPTOP CASE BEGAN TO DETERIORATE ON ME TOO. SO DON'T PLAN TO MAKE A LIFETIME CAREER AT DELL. THE SUBPAR WAGES ARE AN UNPLEASANT FACT OF LIFE HERE IN CENTRAL TEXAS. THEY THINK THAT WE SHOULD PAY THEM FOR THE GREAT PLEASURE OF WORKING IN THE AUSTIN METROPOLIS. AND THERE IS POLITICAL CORRECTNESS, FRIENDS AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS AND FAMILY MEMBERS GET HIRING PREFERENCE ON THE JOBS THAT ACTUALLY DO PAY A LIVING WAGE HERE. WELCOME TO DELL PARADISE!
