delta airlines cancelled our flights 078 on Dec. 27 19:40 at JFK to Berlin and gave us a new departure time ( heavy snow storm) on Dec. 31 same flight and time ( 078 and 19:20)
We asked the agent at Kennedy Airport, if she could get us a Hotel near the airport, since we had to leave the place, where we are staying before. She connected us to some Company, we guess it was Hotel.com , and the agent threre said, he has a Hotel if we have a Visa Card. We gave him the number of the Visa Card and our E-mail adress, in order to reconfirm the amount of money and the name of the Hotel and the Adress. He note my E-mail adress with the country code .ge   instead of
.de ..like Deutschland.
So what can I tell you, we never got the E-mail, we did not know, where the place was and the name of the Hotel, so we stayed at the place where we where staying before and departed on Dec. 31 2010 from kennedy Airport with Delta Airlines to Berlin.
Some time late my girlfriend received a debit advise on her Visa card of more than 1000,00 for using the Hilton Hotel in Queens for the time Dec. 27 to Dec. 31 th. What a fraud.
We complained with the Santander Bank in Berlin but my girl friend never got the money back.
We fly Delta Airlines many times, since my son is living in New York City.

You Can't Blame Delta!

You, nor the airline(s), can predict what your travel weather will be. You are basically blaming Delta for your poor weather planning. Delta has no obligation to assist you for delays/cancellations due to weather.   Take this as a learning experience, and next trip, have an alternate plan for weather. I am truly sorry your trip was ruined, however, there was no one DIRECT contributing factor other than weather.
