As a mechanic, auto and airplane, for the last 60 years, I can't figure for the life of me why the company shill said they check all fluids except brake fluid. WTF!!
Free wash jobs? Wow!

In response to Delta Sonia I am sorry to say you lied.There is nothing noted on the invoice saying the rear differential was leaking and also there is no signs of the plug being removed on the differential to show it was checked. Also we were not told when the service was performed that there was a leak in the differential. This leak would not happen over night so there was a definite signs when serviced it was leaking.
And you call a offer of a few free car washes a gesture of good will. I priced a replacement used rear end and it is $360.00. The tow from Grand Island was another $90.00 and to make it worse the vehicle is sitting now in my driveway taken off the road till this is settled.
The price for the replacement differential does not include the cost to have it installed.
I left a message for the person in charge of claims with Delta Sonic and he has yet to return my call.

This vehicle was brought into our shop for an Oil Change on November 18, 2011. Our oil change includes a check of all fluids with the exception of brake fluid. All of our findings are noted on the invoice which is given to the customer.
This vehicle did undergo a full fluid check and the differential in question was found to be full when the vehicle was serviced. All leaks of any kind are noted on the customer's invoice not only for our protection but to inform the customer of any potential future issues. If a leak would have been found on the differential this would have been noted on the invoice.
The customer came back to us on December 4, 2011 to notify us of an issue and to file a damage claim. In our investigation into the claim the customer invoice confirmed all fluids to be full except for Washer Fluid which was marked added. We went to view the vehicle and found very fresh fluid which was covering the differential, differential cover, and rear axle.
No matter the outcome or specifics of any claim we always offer passes as a goodwill gesture to our customers.
