I brought my wife's BMW to Ryan Motors'Denville BMW service dept. to have the transmission oil changed. I also asked them to change the motor oil. When they were finished, in addition to the bill for the transmission oil replacement, I was presented with a $240.25 bill for an "oil service". This included following "services" that I did not need or ask for:

- "Normal maintenance"

- "Replace Micro filters"

- "Perform safety inspection"

-"Service fuel injection"

-"Check and replenish fluid levels"

-"Check tire wear & reset pressure"

- "Reset service indicator"

- "Perform final road test"

And yes, they also changed the oil and filter. All this for only $240.25.

The service manager lied and said I asked for a complete service. Why would I do that after having had the car serviced only 5000 miles prior to bringing it in to Denville BMW. And with BMW's outrageous pricing for service, a $240.00 bill is a bargain. The fact is I asked for an oil change and they conveniently and,in my opinion, fraududently decided to make it an "oil service" and tack on few hundred dollars to the bill.

I strongly recommend that BMW owners needing service get an estimate beforehand from Denville Motors-even for an oil change. Better yet, go somewhere else for service. And if Denville BMW/Ryan Motor's service department's dealings are an indication of what to expect from this dealership, I wouldn't buy a car there either.
