I was looking for freelance video jobs online and was given a web address from my school career advisor.  The site was not involved so I will not include it.  I found a freelance transcription job through the site and job connected with Erin Bonneau of Digital Boats Media on March 13th, 2011.

The original agreement was to transcribe DVDs every so often through out the year.  Instead of DVDs she sent me digital files.  I was a bit confused, but did them anyway and submitted an invoice on March 27th.  It took her a week to get back to me after that at which point she sent me the DVDs.

Through out the process her emails got to the point of excessive.  Emailing me between 5 and 10 times a day asking roughly the same questions.  At this point I had been asking for payment almost everyday for 3 weeks with no response.

After the 5th time she asked for my phone number "To check in" and didn't call I asked if she read my emails or if she just deletes them.  She called me that day and left a message saying "we're not a match and I should send the DVDs back".  I called her back and all I got was a robot voice asking me to buy a voice mail box.

I kept asking for payment from both of these jobs and never got a response.  I finally got a response from her "Bookkeeper" who only goes by Bookkeeper I never got a name.  She told me that a check was sent on April 21st.  Which I did receive on April 23rd.  When I got that check I emailed asking for the money for the digital files.

I emailed her and the bookkeeper multiple times a day asking for the money she owes me for the digital files.  She contacted me on April 28th saying "sorry for the delay".  I gave her a week and started emailing her again.  Stopping at the beginning of June, which is when I told her I would be reporting her to her clients and scam reporting site.  She responded July 7th and 8th saying "she had no idea this wasn't paid".  It's been 2 weeks and the only response I've gotten was to an email from April 19th.

After some research I found she had done this to multiple people at the same time I was going though it.
This has happened to 4 other people that I have found.

I have every email she's every written me as proof of her running me in circles.

Before Erin's rebuttal she told me she would pay me "as soon as I took down my report on ripoff reports".  I told her I couldn't delete it but would be more than happy to update it with information on the resolution.  Nothing but "it will come soon."

After Erin's rebuttal I emailed her and gave her more opportunities to pay me.  Nothing.  In her rebuttal she says I have been paid in full, but I have 3 emails from her saying since the rebuttal post saying "you will be paid soon", but she refuses to acknowledge any kind of time frame.

In her rebuttal she also says that I should be focusing on my work rather than bugging her even though I hadn't contacted her for a month before she started her run around routine again.  She also mentions that I should not have contacted the company that I ultimately did work for (the company I DID get paid for), but I contacted them so they could understand what kind of company they are dealing with because that company looks bad because they are dealing with someone who gives freelancers the run around.

The facts that she avoided are things like her fraudulent phone numbers, after calling I never even got an answering machine, which I stated in my initial report.  She also talks about how I was a one time remote part time freelancer, but at no point did I complain about wanting more working from her.

The fact is I told her I was done after 2 weeks of asking for payment for the digital files and getting either no reply or "the check will come soon".  That should have been paid in April, it's not August.  4 months is not "soon".

As for the other people who have dealt with Erin's routine that I mentioned before and that she claims to have no recollection of, I have found 4 people who have dealt with the same thing and a couple of them got paid after contacting the companies they worked for through her and writing blogs as well as reporting her to sites she uses for her scams.  One person I found has been trying to get paid since LAST YEAR!

August 26th and still waiting for my money.

I believe there was a brief delay in your check as we did not receive your W-9 form, after that was received your check was mailed promptly. You worked as a one-time, remote part time employee. I do not need such conflict and heated belligerence.

There was no agreement or contract signed for DVD transcription on a regular basis, you transcribed a few digital files conducted by a student.  You were contracted for part time freelance help, once, and there was no schedule planned or agreed on. You did however agree to maintain confidentiality according to the NDA and the confidentiality legal Agreements I have one file for you signed, which you violated, contacting companies or individuals. The check has been mailed and there is no need for such an alert on a small invoice for a few digital audio interviews.  I did not email you 5 or 10 times a day, I had no need to, that is an exaggeration, I did however receive continuous e-mails from you.

I hope that you learn more considerate and professional communication, as I was unable to provide a reference for your school, as they requested, due to the unprofessional and heated nature of your e-mails. You will burn bridges with companies if you communicate in such as a fashion, if you are looking for long term work I would learn considerate communication skills and agree to the terms of the NDA or confidentiality Agreements you signed. Most companies have these Agreements and you clearly have violated mine. There was a reasonable billing period and your continued e-mails were not welcome, all your work has been paid for and I dont need such an interruption. There are not numerous people looking for compensation owed and I dont know who you are meeting, you were a one time remote employee filling in for someone who was out of the office. I urge you to focus so much of your energy and time on your studies and career and not such belligerence that is disruptive to others.
