I called Digital E-Tailer Inc. and ordered a Canon G2 Digital Camera on July 11, 2002. I spoke to Kevin who talked me into purchasing $760 worth of lenses: telephoto lens, wide angle lens, filter kit, adaptor and a 5 year warrantee. I thought I was getting real Canon products. I received my package of generic merchandise the very next day and I realized that I had purchased nothing that would maximize my Canon's capabilities.
I called them soon thereafter, to get a RAM number to return the excessive equipment. They insisted that I keep the extranious package, just to try out. (The man with the same voice as Kevin, this time was named Ted.) I started to send the camera back anyway, but stopped because of the small print; 15% restocking fee and no returns after 10 days.
I took my camera to a large camera retailer to inquire about what I'd purchased. They automatically predicted the problems I was experiencing with my pictures was because of those extra lenses.
It saddens me to have been conned and it distresses me to know that others were taken the same way. I pray that these crooks get their just due, and I thank people like you for taking the time to help us all. I hope this is the beginning of a class action suit against this company.
